Jim, I still think this is one of the most stunning magical ideas I've ever seen - but I bought it, and just COULD NOT get it to light reliably. In the end I had to return it: any comments?

I have to agree with you. The only thing that I can suggest is that you had a coated card, maybe plastic each side. The fuel needs to absorb into the card. Or you used too little flash cotton. I am sorry, try clicking onto the demo at my site to see the proper tempo of performing Afterburn.
