I use Fakini golf balls and the 1 3/4 white Fakini's. However, the flourish where the ball pops on top of your fist from a closed fist is terribly difficulty because the silicon is so tacky. I can do this easily with a giant ball bearing or a billiard ball.
If you use Fakini, how do you pop the ball on top of your fist? Any tips out there? David |

I understand what you mean, however, some moves have to be sacrificed. Fakini makes many more moves EASIER than they do HARDER.
I would say drop the move, learn something which accomplishes the same thing. They stick well to your clothes, perhaps you could roll it into the position using the fabric of your top? |

David,
It takes a small adjustment. The touch is very very light. It still is a bit jerky in the feel, but it looks fine if you watch it. Took me a bit to get it, but it finally came. Steven

Thank you, Steven and Scot. I will try Steven's, then do the rollout production Scot mentions if I can't get the right touch. Steven, I am the ED at a Continuing Care Retirement Community in Missouri. Isn't healthcare fun?

Don't apply so much pressure. Open the thumb wide and close the fist, under the ball once the bottom of the ball clears. It won't pop up like enameled balls.

I also had this problem with Fakinis. My solution was to make a mold of one of the balls and cast a duplicate in plastic. It works great. I make the plastic ball appear from the fist, then vanish it and retrieve a silicone ball and go into my routine. The plastic ball looks identical to the Fakini.

I developed a move for a multiplying ball routine using soap bubbles (actually clear acrylic balls) that I think would work well with the Fakini balls. Since I was supposed to be working with very delicate bubbles, I thought the ball popping up out of my fist would look too much like I had some gimmick in my hand that blew bubbles. I wanted the bubbles to seem to gracefully materialize.
The ball was held in a relaxed finger palm then my thumb would slowly push the ball along my first and second fingers as I reached out for the production. The ball would end delicately balanced on the tips of my first and second finger and my thumb. It is a very pretty production. Imagine a glass ball balancing on a tripod to visualize the look. Since the ball could roll along the fingers instead of slide across the skin, this should mean the Fakini Balls would cause no problem. |

Rtgreen,
That sounds good. There are clear silicones that could be used if you wanted the grip of Fakini. They would be great for the bubble routine but not very visible for multiplying balls. OliverTwist |

Instead of squeezing the fist to move the ball up, I find that you can roll the ball up using a lighter grip and closing the fingers inwards. This allows the ball to basically climb up to the top with little effort.
Another technique is to use a silk in the hand. By moving the silk upwards in the fist, the ball travels up with it to the top of the fist and makes for a nice production move. Kyle
