I think you are missing the point on writing down the 3 words. In a spectators mind why would you write them down, Why not just reveal the one word selected at random. Mike, Respectfully, can I assume that you are a novice to the world of mentalism? If so, then this question is perfectly valid as it would appear that the step of writing down the words is an unnecessary "move". Obviously, you know I'm going to say that if you buy the routine and read the presentation, the justifications for doing everything are there. But let me explain the basic reasoning. It is totally impossible for someone who is thinking of three words to randomly select one of them. Something in their mind will ALWAYS influence their choice: their mood, the order of the words, something being looked at at the moment, etc. To be truly random the person has to choose something that he/she is truly unaware of. This is why the words are written down. Also, even though it's true, the real reasons for writing the words down involves the devious structure of the routine, but that's the part that the participants don't know about. The strength of this routine is the sealed envelope. Thoughts have been read and clearly sealed before they've been revealed or chosen. You could certainly do it without sealing the envelope and you could certainly do it with them only thinking of one word. It wouldn't be as strong, though.

Let me just thank once again all of those who've said kind things about my effect and those that have purchased it.
Now, on to the bad news. After I had proofed the third edition of Ultimental, the printer used a different source to print the booklets. The end result was that the bottom few lines on six of the pages were cut off. You can still make sense of the routine, but it's totally unacceptable to me. A few customers (including representatives from the distributor) pointed this out to me and, needless to say, I was horrified. Fortunately, the printer has reprinted the entire print run and replacement copies are now in stock with me and at the distributor. These new copies are identified now as the fourth edition and I have asked that all copies of the third edition be destroyed. If you have a third edition (it will say so on page 2), then e-mail me (my e-mail address is on page 2) and I'll e-mail you an errata page ASAP. If you purchased one from me, then I'll send you a replacement copy for free. If you purchased one from another dealer, then please contact that dealer about a replacement copy. I apologize for this inconvenience and hope that this won't detract from your enjoyment of performing this effect. -- Jheff

I found a link that might be interesting for those who need coin envelopes. There is a template on this page. I think it's easily resizeable with a computer.

Hi.
Is the prediction written and sealed before the spectator calls the 3 words? |

Yes, that is correct. This is a very good mentalism effect. Highly recommended.
