Dr. Zordas,
You can do that. You can also remove one post-it to stick it on the book and then give the book to the spectator while you keep the remaining post-it notes and pad to use yourself to write your thoughts/images on thereby giving a legitiamte reason why you only gave the spect. a single post-it note and why you stuck it on the book. Do you know if the book can be openly and freely handled by the spect. without discovering the preparation? Best regards, Michael

Now you may be able to use most books, but not "any." Watch the video again. Those familiar with Al Koran's ideas and the title of this effect will understand what I am saying here. Terry

The gimmick is simple but effective.
The book can be handled freely and openly in the normal fashion that people handle books. IF they take it, open it up, choose a word, close it up, write the word on the Post-It note, take the Post-It note off the book then hand you the book, the gimmick will not be found. However, if someone wishes to treat the book as though it were a puzzle box that must be solved, then, yes, the gimmick will be found. The effect far outweighs the method.

it looks like the same thing called enchanted thought and they have a demo, which is a little cleaner because he never turns the book around they claim you can have everything throughly examined but the price is quit a bit higher. It might be the same thing and justed peeked better I don't know but it never states you can do it with any book, anyway check it out and let me know what everybody thinks. |

FYI: I have heard direct communications from Nicholas Einhorn and he has stated emphatically that "A Word in a Million" is most certainly still available from JBTV.
Just to clear up any misunderstandings. Sorry Nicholas....

I also was able to get into the site with no problem. Enchanted thought does appear to be a good effect. However, it may be similiar in method as A Word in a Million but about $25.00 more.
On a separate note, does anyone know anything about thier other items such as the levitation item called MUSL or Paradime? best regards, Michael

What I mean was that *if* you allow someone to examine the book, they will find the gimmick. However, why would any sane magician ask someone to examine a book in the middle of a performance???

I purchased this item from Mark Mason at one of his lectures. I knew exactly what it was when I bought it. Let me clear a few things up. You cannot do this with a soft cover book. You need a hardcover book, but that isn't a disadvantage. You can go over to "Books a Million" and buy a book for a buck or two, and you will have what you need. It does need to be a "fully equipped" hardcover book.
It will stand casual inspection by the spectator. It will not stand having the book completely broken down by the spectator. It's a familiar principle dressed up in a new way. You can gimmick any standard sized fully equipped hardcover book with this device. And it is WAY too cheap.

A question: How much time/effort/privacy would be required to set up the gimmick in a borrowed book?
Every problem contains the seeds of its own solution. Unfortunately every problem also contains the seeds of an infinite number of non-solutions, so that first part really isn't super helpful.

Yeah, I thought enchanted didn't look half as good as word in a million. Knowing Nicholas this will be a quality piece of magic. I would also get spooked.
