I pieced together a 3 phase routine by combining a couple of the effects on vol 1 of Dan Harlan's Rubber Band Magic video. Here's what I do:

3. Melt - I explain that the real magic is...that there is only one rubber band. As I say this, the second rubber band visibly vanishes and I am left holding only one band.

It's a really wonderful video. And a beautiful use of it, Magicman. Is the "Melt" that you refer to what is called in the video "Crazy Twist Vanish"? Or is there some other effect that I might have missed on it?

Rmoraleta, I'm really glad you mentioned the sponge ball routines. So easy to carry (I keep them in the box), so simple and yet so powerful to the person on the street. I love to do a routine that is seemingly for children, but amazes anyone. Mark Wilson refers to spongeball magic as 'wizardry'. Recently I did a routine at a baby shower and used sponge rabbits. It worked better than any of the card routines.
