I've had great success using Super Sharpie. Takes a bit of getting use to but otherwise works like a charm.

Richard Osterlind stated that he prefers a Swami gimmick nail writer.
Remove the flesh paint and it will fit easily under the thumb nail.

Just like a silver thumbtip, it's invisible in skilled hands.

Wow! Just purchased it and rushing to make one. I have a good feeling about The Snake Charmer. Thanks for the advice.
