With a budget of about 75 dollars, I need to know what you all think I should get. I have nothing, as I have been doing only card tricks for about 2 years now. being a newbie to magic, I thought id ask you all. my obvious preference to the tricks are streetmagic/up-close magic items. also, I don't really care to be amused with the trick myself, I'm more concerned with the reaction of the audiance. what do you all think?

I was looking at the hummingbird card, liquid metal dvd, and the boa coin bender looks cool aswell. however, the bender will have to come later if I end up buying it.

many thanks,

~Mike

P.S. practice is no object

also, the Healed and Sealed effect and the raven both look great

If you are looking at small groups cards are great but I've also gotten great results with the mini chop cup and with the 5 inch Chinese Linking Rings from Royal Magic (about $10)

Depending on what you mean by medium sized crowds, it is hard to beat Cups and Balls.

How about the "Bite Coin" (the one you can eat a piece of it, and then replace it back to the coin by blowing)?
Also - there's the Invisible Deck.

DVD's are better.

Buy a Stealth Pen, Invisible Threads, Coin Shell, Folding Coin, Sponge Balls etc.

Good DVDs teaching sleights and some basic stuff, as mentioned by others.
