Rafael,
I do not wish to alter the question that Mr. McCabe posted regarding presentation, but I had a similar question specifically with regard to "Devilishly Invisible". I believe that the effect of the original Marlo-D'Amico routine is well thought out and that your presentation and handling for it are outstanding. Thank you, Ian |

That's one of my favorite tricks to do for an attentive audience, and the presentation developed pretty much as I explained in the thread started by Pete McCabe. I liked the effect, but there were things in the procedure that wouldn't make sense unless you made them make sense. I eventually hit on the idea of presenting it as a lesson on how to see invisible cards. Cãrds appear to turn visible and invisible during the routine. At some point I tried to be totally consistent in that regard and it was getting really complicated. Then I found you don't really need to be so totally consistent.

Your routine is wonderful. I know that you use it under real live conditions with great success.Do you have any ideas why this classic effect is not seen so much?

As I mentioned earlier, it calls for an attentive audience and the plot needs some work, which is what I have attempted to do. I don't use it all that much. My routine runs about 6 minutes and I perform it mostly at magic conventions, at the Magic Castle, at quiet after-dinner moments for friends, and whenever I feel the situation is right.
