I agree...CAJ Deck is AWESOME!! I'm SO glad I took advantage of the Christmas special!!
In addition, if you collect things like this, I like the Red Gaff Deck from Ellusionist. See here: http://www.ellusionist.com/order/Gaff-Red-Bicycle-Deck.php It has some exclusive cards as well...I LOVE it! Now if you're going to be serious about using gaffed cards, you'll need the DVD "Army Of 52"...: http://www.ellusionist.com/order/Army-of......RY%20ID} You'll NEVER regret the above purchaes. In my opinion, those gaffed decks would offer a LIFETIME of different effects and variations...now if you REALLY want to stand out...Ellusionist has the GHOST deck, and a GAFFED GHOST deck... I'll let someone else comment of the GHOST deck. :) Doug |

Hi Dougini;
I am very new to magic. Checked out the red gaff deck as well as the army of 52 dvd. What about the dvd; is it manageable for a beginning card guy? Is deck+dvd a good buy as a complement to my ordinary card routines? |

Someone once said that the Red Gaff Deck is more of a novelty deck, that you wouldn't really do in your routine, but much rather do to your magician friends. I have the deck and Army of 52 and I tend to agree with that statement. Nothing from the Red Gaff deck made it into my mainstream repetoire. A simple ambitious card or 2 card monte card probably get better reactions then any effect in the Gaff deck.
I love the way they look though. Also, I would advise not buying the Army of 52 DVD, I bought it becuase so many people advised me to, but everything is pretty common sense. When you see a card you know what you can do with it. YOu don't need Brad Christian to tell you to do an Erdnase Change. |

Funny enough, the Fako deck was the first assortment deck I bought.After that I just bought the special assortment in Bicycle Backs.

Thanks a lot Drizz!
I pretty much took in e:s sales pitch; "gaffed cards work with the average spec", considering the art gaffs (i.e. not blanks, double backs etc) as a surprise. Quote:

I was seriously looking at a CD instead of a book - How many of you out there have bought the ARMY DVD?
Was it worth it? Mine would be included in the price so I wouldn't sell it - youd just get it when you buy the deck - but I am wondering who would be interested in it? Caj Caj Magic

CAJ- I have the Army of 52 DVD, and like it better than Robert did. The point of the DVD was to get one to think about the type of changes one can make with the cards supplied, including more than just an Erdnase color change. For example, there is a nice routine for making the pips move around on a four of diamonds, four times. That said, the Ellusionist decks do seem to be more of a novelty, though my friends have very much enjoyed even the effects with a simple Erdnase, because the cards are so different. So yes, I think it was worth it.
As for your including a CD, the inclusion of it with the deck would be a great selling point, as it is with Packet Killer. While your booklet is fine, and contains nice routines, a CD would be even better, and potentially contain more ideas that we could use. I suggest you consider a way, however, for someone like myself who already has your great deck to obtain the CD. John |

A CD would be great.
For the record, I've got one general assortment (doubles, etc.), but I've got THREE CAJ decks. And I still haven't run out of effects to do with them. Great stuff.

The CAJ deck sounds great. I'll have to grab a couple of them. CAJ would you email me?
Also, what I've done is buy 4 double face decks. You can get 4 McDonald's Ace sets, 54 Wild Card sets and with the addition of a Double Back Deck dublicate about 90% of all the packet tricks and gaff card tricks out there. Worth having. Ray

Caj is a generous guy! This is the second time (that I know of) he has offered to send out free samples. I received one last year and it was top notch quality.
