Hi I'm new here at the magic Café and I was just wondering weather CTG will ever be relesed in the UK because I really would like to learn fans/cuts etc...or could anyone recommend any other flourish dvd's for a begginer to learn.

thanks guys,

Josh

Cap Casino has a beginner DVD there.

CTG is not really much if you mostly wanna learn cuts and fans, you learn to do a fan but not any cuts except impossible stack.

I've enjoyed CTG. As mentioned above you can order it from Devo's site. Check the site out. As I understand it Devo, Daryl and Jerry are completing a begineer dvd which is expected to be release in the next few months. I'd recommend getting that but for now get Jerry's book for 80 bucks or so. Its got a lifetime of study and learning. He's also working on associated dvd's on various chapters of the book, volume 1 of the first few chapters has already been release.

Enjoy,

Anything by Brian Tudor and De'vo is great. Tudor is not that great of a teacher though. But if you're advanced enough with cards and familiar with the terms already, then you should have no problem picking up the details.
All the best,

Michael

Like S.W. Erdnase said I do know that Jerry Cestkowski's book, 'The Encyclopedia of Playing Card Flourishes' has companion DVDs, although not tutorial style DVDs, it assists in on how the flourishes should be executed. It is a entertaining and educational DVD. Recommend it greatly.

CTG is a must have.
My fan look like a bar before I got CTG.
CTG not just teach you moves,it give you concept, ideas.
Get it from Handlordz store.
They accept international order.

If your trying to learn a fan right, buy Jeff McBrides dvd's. You can most likely get the 3 vol set off ebay for a good price. Better then buying a dvd for 50 bucks for just one. Plus if you cant do a fan right then why waste your money on ctg because he wont be able to do anything on it if he cant even do a fan. Go with McBride. You will learn tons of stuff for your money.

I don't really think that right now there really is a superior source for learning fans. I have heard though that Jerry "The flourishman" is coming out with a fanning video, Or actually I think its gonna be part of the new DVD, "Xtreme Begginerz"

Youre right kenny I'm pretty new and have been doing some searching.
It looks like that dvd should help a lot for begginers.

I just bought ctg and cc at http://www.xtremehandz.com I hope they help me a lot Cause that's the stuff ive been wanting to learn
and the weapons of a card shark looks great gotr that too
but that's it for now

this reads:
"uhm, I just bought Jerry's Encyclopedia of Playing Card Sleights. I'm positive I've made the right decision based on reviews and contents. One thing I think everyone should get is CTG. It kicks booty."

however, I find other DVD's than CTG better. CTG has, I think, 3 moves total? well taught yes, but to someone who already knows half the steps... it can be quite repetitive and frustrating to have to watch. and I kind of don't like the music. that's just my thing though... I think system kicks more booty than ctg for instance.

I second that. For 50.00 I didn't get to much out of the ctg. Nothing I really didn't know, and nothing I use ever. I basicly bought it, sold it like 2 days later and lost money on it. System is more my style since I am more into cuts and flourishes. Plus all the outakes, extras, funny stuff, clips, and everything else make 30.00 a steal.

Just for the record,

Joshy gave 2 posts and both were to ask about CTG. After which, he disappeared and never came back for over a week as of today. But now the topic CTG is back on the top few of this forum again tho.

then along came majikun and the_maji, both praising CTG over Bucks. well, I guess everyone is allowed their own opinion..tho you tend to feel strange when newbies sign up jus to praise de'vo's stuff and then disappear jus to reappear after some time.

Its a vicious cycle I tell ya!!

No wonder daryl posted "welcome back" lol..its jus to conincidental to be a coincidence :P

cheerios

Guys remember that your buying the ideas as well as the moves. It is sold for so high because of the quaility of the moves, not quantity.

PM if you want to buy a (very slightly) used copy of CTG.

Devo new video beginners should be good for you
Message: Posted by: Imperistan (Apr 18, 2005 05:17AM)
CTG doesn't have 3 moves, it has the whole CTG sequence, which is three moves: CTG opener, impossible stack, CTG closer,
It has the heaven display (IMO worth the price of the DVD alone)
smooth opener, flipback, flipback vanish, flipback fan, birdy fan

I don't know if you can count but that's 8 moves.
It also has little moves like the bluff opener, the ulmen trials story, ulmen trials moves, cool promo vid's ect.

As you bonus you also get video's with a fanning workshop, simple opener, flick and pop, ghost opener, a box vanish and a lot more stuff.

It also has De'vo's awesome teaching style, very clear and good taugth, nice music etc. I would say: Get it, it's worth it!!

Later,
Imp

Yes I also enjoy De'vos teachings style, it is very easy to learn from.

I second that. Variety is gd. Plus, you also join a forum where you learn all kinds of bonuses.
