Topic: Need a new effect |

Hi Over the summer I've quite a few offers of close up work at various locations. I have performed at some of these before, and obviosuly the guests will be different, but I would like to add ONE more new effect. I currently perform: Color Monte Free Will Royal Oil Svengali Deck The Insurance Policy Silk Vanish/Production 3d Sponge Rabbits Ultimate 3 Card Monte ESP Routine - from Beyond ESP 2 Professors Nightmare Cut and Restored Rope Chop Cup Routine ACR - adapted from ETMCM Vol 2 or 3 I don't perform all these in one go etc, and I am aware I am lacking in the area of Coin Magic. Can any recommend anything with coins that's easy to pick up for someone who hasn't really done anything with coins (except Coin Squeeze Pro - involes simple slights) Your help would be greatly appreciated |

I would really suggest books and vids but it sounds like there's not a lot of sleight of hand going on here so.. Commercial Stuff Coins: "Double X" "Scotch and Soda" Bills/Banknotes: "Ghost Bills" vid "Self Folding Bill" Other: "Color Deception Brass" You might try some elastic band effects too. |

Johnson's Two Copper/One Silver set will make you look like a polished coin worker and combined with Doc Eason's handling will be one of the most memorable routines you'll perform all summer. |

A nice effect to add to your Rep would be an Effect by Kevin James called Animated Card through balloon of death. Its a really fun effect and can be performed in all venues. good luck |

Julie, Where could I find Doc Eason's handling of Two Copper/One silver? Thanks, Gene |

I notice that you are okay with your source of card effects. How about some close-up linking rings involving the spectators, or maybe Pinnacle since it can be done with a borrowed ring. good luck! |

I am not a coin-worker at all, but I love Troy Hoosier's charming chinese challenge. You can buy it on DVD, or it's in his book, Destroyers. Handling is pretty easy, and it gets a great reaction. If you can spend some money, I really recommend the Biro/Porper Just a case/key. Using Mike Close's routine, I have been really frying spectators like never before. I HIGHLY recommend it. |

A nice effect as mentioned above is DoubleX/aka electronic rating pen its very inexpensive about $5 and can be found at the magic warehouse.Top recomendation for your situation. |

How about Stargazer. Very commercial effect, and a great give away. Its an effect by Alan Wong. |

You can add somthing with paddle move to your routiene. As for basic coin slights and some basic yet cool effects, go with Ammar's compelete introduction to coin magic, International Magic in London has some great prices on videos sales. Zac |
