Topic: Favorite method 'disappearing a watch'
Message: Posted by: Koen Bossuyt (Oct 14, 2002 06:35PM)
I hope my English writing isn't too bad... as I live in Belgium (Europe). Still looking for the best method in 'making a watch disappear'. Is Comedy Watch Bag at hocus-pocus.com a good idea ?
Many thanks !

G'day Koen, the best method I know for vanishing a watch is to take it off my wrist before I go to bed and put it ....
I don't know where.
I have not seen the particular effect you mention.
I suggest that you repost you question in the "Good, Bad and Garbage" section further down the Café Menu page.
Looking forward to more posts from you.

Last year I was lucky enough to sit in on a lecture by Terry Herbert. He has featured the Watch Box routine in his act for over tewnty years.

Terry's method for vanishing the watch is a simple switch under a hankerchief.

Very simple and very effective!

Okay after you take the watch off put it in your pocket and walk to a pawn shop :rotf:

his video is on the spot. however, it teaches you how to steal a watch, with both hands. if u wanna do a watch steal, go for chappy brazil's watch steal video. it focuses only only on watch steals. however, 'on the spot' is a great video to pick up either. well... I have vanished watches b4. just roll it up or whatever, false pass it, RAISE YOUR HAND UP retaining the shape (mis direction), and just slip it into your pocket. raise your now free hand and do a magic pass over the one pretending to hold a watch and the rest is up to you. it looks great to laymen.to fake pass it just hold it, tap it on your other hand, then close the hand. simple as that. very deceptive. =)

Hello Koen and welcome to the Café. One of the easiest and the one I use the most is the Devil's Hank that can be purchased at any shop. I know there are several other methods but this just appears to me to be the easiest and cheapest prop for that purpose. Maybe not the best but it does a fine job. Hope this helps.
