My name is John Zander and I am a magician

I do almost only stand up work being totally burnt out on restaurant work. I work retirement homes, corporate and private. I also have been quite busy working kid shows on the weekends.

I have been very lucky in that I have had the guidence of some of the greatest talents in our art.

I have two effects on the market, Copy Cards & Re-Print. Re-Print will be re-released soon by Magic City. I won Orange Countyís magician of the year (stand up magic) two years in a row. I have been published in Mr. Gadfly and MAGIC. MAGIC also did a two page feature on me in the Dec. 2001 issue.

I also founded and run "The Art of Magic" workshop group. I host private "hands on" workshops from some of the most talented magicians in our art. http://www.allmagic.net

I am really enjoying this board, I think that it will be a giant in the internet magic world. I really hope that it stays friendly.

John:

It would be silly of me to welcome you since you arrived here before I did. I just wanted to comment that your photo occupies a prominent spot in Dean's Shoppe and so I can now put a face to the name. I am glad you are resource here.

Hi John, and (a belated) welcome to the Cafe! I am just beginning in magic, and consider myself fortunate indeed to be able to "learn from the best" here. Thank you everyone! Kind of strange getting all of these welcomes now since I have been on this board for some time (member number 6 :) ) But it sure is nice, and appreciated, thank you.

Marty, so you have been to Dean Dill's shop, great. I (my photo) is in some great company there. Did Dean tell you the story on the David Williamson photo! If he didn't you have to ask him about it.... very funny!

Another John.

Welcome from a newbie (to the Board).

I also know and appreciate the value of mentoring.

Most recently I had the opportunity to get a lot of advice from Card Mondor (now sadly deceased) while I was helping to prepare and publish his autobiography.

I also appreciated your comment about hoping the Board remains friendly. I have seen a few clubs and Boards where internal politics or personalities have caused much angst, even detroyed the thing completely.

But Steve Brooks and the rest seem to have got it pretty right here.

That is one secret I would really like to know!

Now I will have to hunt up some of your posts. :snail:
