Is the origami box an illusion that one can buy plans for, or does one have to purchase the actual illusion to have the rights to perform it?

Thanks,

You have to purchase an actual licensed prop. Do a quicksearch on the Café and you'll find a topic on this very subject.

Cheers!

The man who designed it for Doug Henning, and still owns all rights to it is:

info@jimsteinmeyer.com

Drop him a line and find out who makes authorized versions.

The authorized versions are only available from John Gaughan or Wellington Enterprises.

There is a Greg Frewin "shattered mirror" version avilable on magicauction.com right now. It is built by Wellington.

Didn't Bill Smith have the rights to build this as well or did I completely make that up in my head? (Which is entirely possible! LOL!)

Nope, just Johnny and Wellington.
