Topic: Hand in molten lead

Does anyone do this effect? I have been trying to do some research on it and the scientific sources, which often discuss the Leidenfrost Effect, give a technique that is the EXACT opposite to sideshow sources, like Miraculous Hindu Feats and Socerer's Apprentice. So, does anyone DO it? Feel free to PM me.

Here's a hint... it's not lead. It's a metal that melts at a temperature just about that of hot wax. The best effect used with this "mystery" metal is the hot lead spit, where the liquid metal is poured in the mouth, then spat onto a cold plate - which lands with a loud metallic CLANG!! - giving the effect of lead.

The name of the metal is..........

Heh heh,
You didn't think I was gonna give it away THAT easy, did ya?
I can't divulge the metal or I'll have Slim kicking my A55 and my blacksmith buddies will banish me forever.

I know it's not mercury (which is liquid at room temperature), because any amount of heating will make it vaporize into a highly toxic steam. I think I figured out what it is, but in deferrance to everyone here, I won't reveal it. (I hope you're referring to the non-toxic version, since there's two possible alloys.)

Actually, I know the version that does not use lead. However, both physics professors here use real lead:

Around 1980 I attended Cleveland State U, in Ohio. Jearl Walker taught a class that was immediately before one I took, and the lecture hall was usually a total mess. It was great for the imagination!

Sounds like Aunty Molly, no lead in her dolly. There is a slang name for it, just check the other threads.
