Topic: Torn and Restored Card
Message: Posted by: Link (Dec 3, 2002 06:44AM)

I would like all opinions. What is the best piece by piece torn and restored card for doing on the street? I hear many good things about Reparation but I hear it is hard. Just how hard is it and would it work on the street? Thanks. Or, also, Ben Harris's book, even though they're not piece by piece, they look interesting. And the movie ripped and restored looks cool, too. Thanks for any help. :)

Try Brent Braun's Torched and Restored.
I have combined it with Billoon and it works out wonderfully!

I agree about Ripped and Restored. I don't have it yet, but I will probably buy it soon.

Brent's Torched and Restored is king for street magic. You can be set up for tons of performances, while you don't have to have anything "ready" or held out before you go into it. Finish the effect, your hands are clean, and you are ready to do it again. Not to mention it kills.... :baby:

No offence but i think brent's effect is only ok. i wouldn't say it kills. my reactions are only ok... maybe cause i have to work on my presentaion of it. Has anyone gotten great reactions from it? Tell me... i just might perform it more.=) and regarding the main question the thread, it's got to be Ripped and Restored!!! :rotf:

Hey Link,
Take the torched and restored principle and apply it to ...
Bills, it is very easy to jokingly take a borrowed bill from a spectator and say thanks, put it in your pocket, and pull out the gaffed bill. have it signed and torn apart.. only to be restored in some impossible location.. also I have found that the effect is strengthend by telling the spectator to hold onto the peices and attempt to restore the bill in their hands..
They will not notice the difference.. they may on a card however.
this restoring in the spectators hands allows me to add in a little comedy with the breakaway wand, and magician in trouble scene.. fail to restore it several times and this provides enough misdirection to do a multitude of things with the signed bill.
for an impossible location effect..
Take it easy

An easy but good torn and restored card trick is on Ammars easy to master card miracles. You rip it into 4 and give them a piece to hold onto while you restore the other three. They can sign the card anywhere and it requires little misdirection. :pepsi:
