Topic: Midnight's Elevation - Levitation
Message: Posted by: midnightmjb (Dec 6, 2002 06:17PM)
For anyone interested in self-levitation, we have created an interesting new spin on what has gone before. The Balducci has been shown ad infinitum, so we put our minds as far away from it as possible. This new technique, still in development, utilizes basic physics principles of counter balance and the optical use of raked angles (see the "Ames Room"). We won't go further than that at this time in an open forum. The effect works best from a directly side on view, however with practice it can be pulled off from the front, but only with limited angles. If you are interested in this effect, please check the Grand Illusions forum ('New' Leviation Principle)where we'll be posting a web address with video etc.

Note also that this is NOT strictly the best levitation for street performance as it does require some initial set up, but I know what a hot topic self-levitation is in this forum, so I thought it post it here anyhow.

If anyone is interested in further information I'll be happy to answer your questions. Also check out the thread in Grand Illusions.

Hey midnight, I love the levitation. It kinda reminds me of King Rising. I've been working on my own self levitation, but it's hardly ready to be seen by anyone.

If you're interested, I'd like to swap tricks with you for the secret.

I hope I don't sound too pushy. But I would greatly appreciate it.

Hey CardSharp,

The effect can look similar to King Rising, but it allows for more freedom of movement, both for you and the audience. Plus, with some effort on your part, the effect can be pulled off from a front-on POV (audience must be some distance and preferrably on a slightly raised viewpoint). I'd be happy to give you any assistance you like with your levitation. I don't want to just give away Midnight's Elevation cause we are in the process of obtaining patents. But I'll help you in any way I can, I suggest you PM from now on to continue this...

A lot of posts and PMs asking for the web address - the website is down at the moment being updated. We were three and are now 2 so please bear with us.

PS: Please send your good vibes to our partner Alex who is currently in hospital undergoing heart surgery. Midnight's Elevation is to a great extent his brain child.

With the new 'elevator' levitation coming soon, people will forget/dismiss yours unless you bring it out soon. Here's hoping its great.
