Topic: Coomber PA and Countryman Compatibility?
Message: Posted by: ThePartyMagician (Jun 22, 2006 07:59AM)
Hi people who are MUCH more technologically-minded than I am!

I had a query re. compatibility between a Coomber PA system, (with wireless receiver built in) - http://www.coomber.co.uk/Products_2070TECH.html

and a Countryman E6 wireless mic with Sennheiser connector.

As far as any of you know, are these two items compatible? I queried with the Coomber people and they couldn't answer.

Many thanks in advance for helping out a confused magician!

Mike, are you asking if your Countryman E6 will plug directly into your transmitter that came with the Coomber PA?

In order to answer this question, you would need pin-out diagrams for the current wiring that you describe as Sennheiser, and also for the Coomber transmitter.

The current wiring that you describe as Sennheiser would have to match the Coomber pin configuration.

Any electronics shop should be able to re-wire the E6 for you once you have the two pin-outs.

Countryman mics can be ordered with the connector for most transmitters, just check their list to see if yours is available. Check on the Internet for sources.

The cable is very, very small and I would recommend that you let Countryman made the connections for the connector. All of the mics ordered generally come straight from Countryman irregardless of whom you purchase it from.

Also, I would consider using the newer thicker wire version as it holds up better in usage. The size difference is only 1 mm.
