Has anyone had a chance to view the DVD? What are your thoughts? Did it live up to all of the hype?

Thanks.

I downloaded Indecent by Wayne Houchin and I wasn't disappointed. The trick is simple to do and I think one of the best of 2006.

At the end, can the spectator pick up the bag, or does the magician have to first?
Message: Posted by: wilfr3d (Nov 2, 2006 02:15PM)
I heard that there's a 2-second clean-up move right after the card is shown to be inside the bag.

And... Why are people so concerned about whether the card is in the bag or not. It's a magic trick, an illusion. As long as your spectators believe it's in the bag, why would it matter to you, the magician?

That's exactly what I was thinking. I bought this as soon as it came out and havent been dissapointed. Like all of waynes effects its totally impromptu(as long as you have a deck of cards and ziploc bag) and can be done anytime. If you like what you see from the trailer and think it fits your style or routine then I would def. get it. Great job Wayne with another awesome and practical effect.

Why is everyone fishing for how the trick works? Buy the DVD or the download you won't be disappointed.
Message: Posted by: kid iowa (Nov 3, 2006 06:36AM)
I wasn't fishing, I just think it would be phenominally stronger if the spectator could take the card out themselves. I ordered it BTW.

After getting the DVD and watching it.. I was and wasn't disappointed. More on the "wasn't" and I will explain.

This is a great effect. Wayne is an extremily clever guy. I haven't been disappointed with what I have used of his recently. I have been doing his Stigmata which I get very strong reactions from. Do check this out as well.

INDECENT... disappointed as I was actually lookign for "something more" I guess. My only disappointment which really isn't a disappointment. What floored me is how easy and simple this really is. And yes.. totally impromptu..well ok.. as long as you can find someone who normally carries a zip-lock bag on them. usually tough to borrow on the fly.

You can learn this.. in a VERY short time which will leave you time to work on a presentation. I showed this to my wife a day after I got it...and the reaction??!! "ok, how do you do that?"

If I can get that from my wife (who btw knows everything now being married to a magician / magic dealer) I know I've got a winner.

As for the second clean up..it refers to handing the bag out with the card in it as a give-away. One which..in my mind I am really not sure it is that important.

And it took me a month of repeating the video over and over again to figure it out. Some because I didn't want to pay, mostly because he wouldn't release this for FOREVER.

That's almost sad dude. Hope you sent the man a little something at least for the demo time.

I got this and absolutely love it. Brilliant routine giving me more credit than I deserve. Has anyone taken the leap and attempted this on stage with jumbo cards in a gallon size freezer ziplock bag yet?

Hehe, nice idea...a stage presentation.
I love the effect. as usual, wayne covers all the angles of it so to speak.
the effect is beautiful in it's simplicity and plays great on audiences.
great stuff! get the dvd!

I have a question about the Revelation. I find that I am having a bit of a problem when opening the bag. That should be enough for you guys to understand what I mean. Any tips?

I'm fairly new to magic but I too figured this one out but still purchased it because I feel that Wayne deserves my busniess as he has put the time and effort into developing this trck. Yes anybody can make a trick but not everyone develops it into magic. Great work Wayne.

I bought this and I believe it is well worth the money. At first it appears to be something that should be one trick in a book of card magic but the overall look and feel with Wayne teaching is excellent. So I would recommend it. That being said I do have one nit.

MESSAGE TO WAYNE: "During the presentation of the effect before an audience"
I'm willing to ignore the MTV camera jumping around every quarter second but dude when I payed for the DVD, don't take the camera off the revealation at the end. This is OK for the demo because you don't want the effect to be ripped off. But when you buy the DVD you expect to see the entire presentation and not a bunch of people jumping up and down at the climax.

Best, Arnie

I love the simplistic method of this effect, it allows for more presentation. Highly Recommend it
Message: Posted by: RC4MAG (Dec 1, 2006 09:04AM)
I agree with Arnie. The demo of the effect doesn't show the revelation.
The trick is much better than the demo shows.

I was not so impressed until I saw the explanation part which shows how truly clever and terrific looking the revelation really is.
Message: Posted by: theoriginalman (Dec 1, 2006 09:13AM)
Wayne teaches two ways to show the revelation and both are excellent. I've tried both and the second one is a deal sealer, try it.
Message: Posted by: paisa23 (Dec 1, 2006 01:24PM)
Theoriginalman, Are you refering to the Tabled revelation version? Hmm didn't think about it much. Really, a Deal Sealer?

Since getting back into performing magic, I've never had an impromptu effect garner as much reaction as Indecent. It has quickly become a favorite among those I've shown it to.

The simplicity of the method and the reactions have made this one of my favorite effects to perform.
Message: Posted by: GeorgeSantos (Dec 21, 2006 11:33PM)
This is a great effect. Could be done close-up, parlor and even stage. Simple, direct. You don't even have to talk!
Message: Posted by: joseph (Dec 22, 2006 07:54AM)
Agreed....This can easily be the trick of 2006.. :) ..

Just received Indecent via the holidays (the first half of that sentence looked very similiar to the one I posted over in "Greed" for those of you who just thought dejavu). This is probably the strongest impromptu effect I've ever seen. I performed it twice todays on some extremely close friends just to test the reactions and its no joke. It doesn't even deserve to be called impromptu - this is the kind of effect that is usually only accomplished with extensive gimmicks and setup. Kudos to Wayne for such a great effect and detailed dvd to cover every little detail of the routine. I am not disappointed in the method at all. As someone has already pointed out here, why should the magician care whether or not it was in the bag? It is in the bag to the spectator no matter what you see, and the handling of the "clean up" is absolutely perfect. There can be no doubt that the card was in the bag when the magic happened. I love it!

Yes I agree this may be 1 of the best tricks of the year I have floored people with this . A magician fooling the wife now you know it's good she went for the bag thinking a slit in the bag NO everything can be examined Excellent effect !

Consistant with Sinful's powerful impromptu impact, Indecent is fantastic. as has been stated:
yes the bag and the cards can be borrowed
yes the bag and the cards can be inspected before
yes the bag and the cards can be inspected after

clean up? 2 seconds
angle sensitive? only mildly and easy to overcome
ease of peforming? (1 = super easy/5 = very difficult) with a little practice, a 1 - 1.5
impact on specs? extremely powerful
reset? after a 2 second clean up, immediately ready to go again (although not recommended)
value? 1 trick for $25... but a very powerful trick you will do repeatedly

overall, extremely well explained by Wayne Houchin. very clear instructions and heaps of helpful tips.
9/10.

Use more (you should know what this means) and/or wait a few extra moments before picking up the bag.

I'm pretty much in agreement with most people that this one packs a nice bang relative to how simple it is to perform.
My only complaint about the DVD is that the method taught to control the card seemed needlessly complicated and unnecessarily risky.

The first time I saw the demo I thought Indecent could be a great alternative to any 'Card Through Window' effect.

Indecent is what got me started into magic and is worth every penny. I have since purchased several of Wayne's DVD's and I cannot wait for his next release. My favorite routine is his rendition of the Paul Harris classic The Invisible Palm which I am learning now. Not an easy trick for the beginner but it has been fun learning several card controls.

Thanks to Wayne my wife is always ****ed at me for all the dough I have been blowing on magic books, dvd's, cards, coins, gimmicks...

Well, in Lee Asher's "Witness" there chosen card is IN the bag and they can remove it.

If you follow thta with Wayne's effect where the card is signed, they will already beleive that you can get the card in the bag. They won't doubt it and you can remove the signed card.

Wow, thanks for sharing the Reno Outtake! Her outcry of disbelief really made my smile - Indecent is that potent. People asked me about Indecent months later and said that's impossible..
