Hi all,
Do any of you have unusual license plates? Possibly announcing your profession or hobby. My wife just got me a great early birthday present. Personalized License plates. They are not magic related, rather they relate to my "day job" anyone figure it out?

The plate will say "9point8"

Well since you are a science teacher I'll guess it has something to do with gravity.

Yesterday I did a double take when I read a plate, on a mini-van, as M S CRAPIN. It became clear to me when I saw the graphic on the side that read Michelle's Scrap Book Parties.

Josh, we're running an article in our magazine this month about a scrap booking store in our town. When I was laying out the title, I was playing around with a larger capital S and different type styles but it kept looking like
S CRAPPER
or S CRAPPING,
so I gave up trying to be creative.

Mine reads: SUDO 4RE.

So the question is: what color is my car?

Lyndel, You should get a license plate frame that says "LOOKING" at the bottom. :rotf:

Mine reads 98MAGIC

referring to my interest in magic with the 98 in reference to my best magical year, the year my son was born.

ZUGZWNG

It's missing a vowel but is a German word. Chess players out there will understand it right away... and its meaning seemed appropriate on my car.

You don't want to drive, but you must! Driving means certain trouble, but you must!

The story of my life... I've been home only on the weekends for 4.5 years... computer work... I enjoy playing chess so the word seemed to fit in more ways than one... compelled to move (drive)... that's me.

Can't have vanity plates here in Guad. Denied. Bogus. Rats. Bummed. Denied again.

The best one I ever saw was WHOGAF.

My guess on the original post is that 9point8 is referring to the richter scale for earthquakes.

The only vanity plates I have ever had were references to my amateur(aka ham)radio callsign.
Message: Posted by: Cliffg37 (Jan 6, 2007 08:55AM)
9.8 on the richter scale would be a very bad day for who ever lived near the quake. that would be total destruction for all human built structures. I am actually a little more up beat than to look for such a terrible event.

Vandy got it early on. Nine point eight meters per second squared is the acceleration of gravity on Earth.

The late great Bill Gaines, publisher of Mad Magazine, had a license place that was the id number for the Graf Spree (spelling wrong but I'm refering to the zepplin) as Bill was a balloon enthusiest. One person recognized it for what it was in all the years he had it and it thrilled him to no end.

We're not allowed such plates in the UK, they have to conform to the standard pattern.

Paul Danniels has MAG 1C apparently

If you were able to have personalized license plates in the UK, here would be some great ideas for some well known brits:

Paul McCartney - DVORCED

Mick Jagger - BIGTUNG

Elton John - FLAMR

Madonna - WAN2B BRIT

Simon Cowell - RUDE1

At first I thought this meant the plate owner was having trouble with their Windows operating system.
