Hi guys

It's been so long since I last posted in the Café but the daytime job has been a nightmare and I've been developing a software project in my spare time. However, I've headed over to this section because my project is nearing completion and I need a second, third, fourth ... opinion.

It's called The Jester and it's basically a jokes database application, allowing the user to view, add, delete, sort and search from over 2500 jokes. Yep, over 2500. It's taken several months of scouring the net, and my memory banks, for open source material but finally I've got what I consider to be one of the most comprehensive joke colections you'll find anywhere, with the added advantage of it all being editable. I'm intending to offer the application for sale over the Net.

I won't say any more about it right now but I'm offering a free copy to say the first half dozen who express an interest. However, there are some conditions here, which I think are quite reasonable.

1) Only members with 100 posts or more, and preferably those of you who use comedy in your act and can review this from an entertainer's perspective.

2) This is an exchange offer. That is I'll send you a copy of the software to review but I require constructive feedback in return. If you are really busy at the moment and don't think you've got the time to help me out then please don't offer.

OK. That's it. Either post replies here or PM me. I'll then go with the first half a dozen or so volunteers and close the offer.

Thank you for reading and thank you if you can help me out.

I would gladly provide feedback for this database, as long as you can tell me specifically what kind of feedback you're looking for and how often. My parlor show is a 45 minute Comedy/Magic show and if you're looking for credibilty or testimonials you can PM me.

Thanks for the offer, you are just the type of candidate I need. And it is just one lot of feedback once you've had a chance to assess the program. I've PM'd you with further details.

Can I thank all of you who have PM'd and posted offering their services. I've got enough of you helping out now to get some decent feedback.

Don, computers are like that sometimes. But as part of my day job is Technical Help, assisting people is second nature, so one way or another we'll get it sorted. There's another email winging its way to you.

I think that you've reached your half-dozen limit, but I'm in as well.

I do comedy at corporates, casinos, private parties, as well as a 90 minute bar show.

For testimonials and some info on my act, visit

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Does anyone still use this unbelievable programme?
