I have searched the web up and down...w/o any luck

I am looking for steel/metal/or aluminum (strong) transport cages for my birds and parrots.

I seam to remember seeing someone on tv with one for his macaw.

does anyone know where I can find these? Or do I need to sit down design one and take it to a custom fab shop?

Will one of these work?:

Or maybe this type of service will work for you: http://www.petmovers.com/site/index.htm

all you need to do is insert a perch that's big enough for the macaw going across and you can travel with it..

hope that's what you want.

I would suggest you check with a racing pigeon club. My dad used these to transport his pigeons for a race. I still have a small carrier. They are made of aluminum and are indestructable. You might search on ebay or call a pigeon club.

Here is something similar: http://www.nepigeonsupplies.com/catalog.php?item=72&catid=Carriers%20%26%20Baskets&ret=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nepigeonsupplies.com%2Fcatalog.php%3Fpage%3D1%26category%3DCarriers%2520%2526%2520Baskets

Here is a tough, soft-sided parrot carrier with a tail pouch approved by airlines: http://www.birdsupplies.com/PhotoGallery.asp?ProductCode=PB%2DAirCab&PhotoNumber=4#largerphoto

This one looks like a magic trick. It is made of lexan specifically as a travel cage for macaws: http://www.windycityparrot.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=14301201002

I would think you would want the macaw in the cabin with you, if she could be quiet. Shipping her as cargo is quite risky. Good luck and I hope this helps.

Just curious, as I don't see anything here stating it. Do you know he is moving/going on airlines?

It could be simple in car transport?

Unless you know from somewhere else that he's moving/travling far.

Looking for something for the airlines and what not

I was trying to find something along the line of the Macky dog crates.

I couldn't find anything on Macky dog crates (under any spelling). If none of our suggestions work, why don't you contact a professional macaw breeder? They would be the experts and could tell you if what you are wanting exists. You could also ask Chesaday, because I think he travels with his macaws.
Good Luck,
