Has anybody here seen the movie "The Secret" and care to post a brief review?

Longer: You have to see it.

Happy-talk.

Heard it from EST, heard it from Tony Robbins, heard it LONG ago from Norman Vincent Peale ... oh, swing a cat and you'll hit a "self-improvement" or "motivational" guru we've heard it from before. As for the "channeling" of this "secret" from "spiritual teachers": [imitating theremin music] "woooooOOOOOoooooOOOOO...."

Not that it's invalid, it's just nothing new. I don't put it down because it's not MY chosen map of the universe ... it's generally a pretty good idea to pick a map of reality and operate within its guidelines, rather than to drift aimlessly. So if it works for you, great. But the way it's being sold makes it sound like somebody just found the Answer to Life, the Universe and Everything. (I'll let you have that free - it's "42").

For - what? - $30, you can have the secret. Pretty cheap, comparatively. Worry if there suddenly appear opportunities to spend a lot more on it.

Time to worry, Ross. Scroll down for the two-thousand-dollar pyramid scheme opportunity.

Ok, Hitchhiker fans, if 42 is the answer to life, the universe and everything, then what is the question? ;)

Ask your nearest labrat

How are folks doing on the rhetoric of "the secret" ?

Nothing like a fast fling spun by an empty promise.
