Topic: The elements of memorized deck effects/methods |
I thought it might be helpful to me, and anyone else looking into this type of card magic, if someone could give a bare-bones kind of breakdown of the elements of mem/stack deck effects. There have been plenty of listings of specific effects possible, but can all these effects be classified into their basic elements, just like general magic can be classified into Vanishes, Productions, Levitations, etc etc. In other words, mem deck effects doing 'thought of card at any number' would be classified as one type of effect. And perhaps this elemental effect list could be accompanied by the necessary elemental method(s) required to pull it off (cyclical stack, mnemonic system, etc). Hope this makes sense. Thanks! Todd |

Simon Aronson has a free download on his website called "Memories are Made of This" which is a kind of intro to mem deck work and some of the many possibilities available. http://www.simonaronson.com Go to Magicians Only, then click on Memorized deck work. Jack Shalom |

Thanks, Jack. I will check that link out right now. I see you changed your avatar name to Landmark. Curious. And Leonard Cohen, he's the Man, and I do cover versions of about 6 of his songs. Todd |
