Topic: I'm practically magic royalty
Message: Posted by: Josh the Superfluous (Mar 26, 2007 03:29PM)
My mom is tracing the family tree. She was amused, when she found this picture of one of our female ancestors, posing with a microscope. Like the pictured woman, one of my brothers is a scientist and I am a photographer. My mom thought I should show my daughter, since she is interested in science (particularly mineralogy).

When I clicked on the link, the paragraph describing my ancestor mentioned her husband..... Nevil Story-Maskelyne (1823-1911), grandson of the Astronomer Royal and professor of mineralogy at Oxford.

Kinda spooky stuff!

It is said that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
Maybe the family tree.

My maternal ancestors were also Lords and Ladies of Britain.
While unemployed and taking classes, my English professor made us do a study on our family history. Very interesting thing to do.

Well, names like "Nevil Story-Maskelyne" and grandsons of the Astronomers Royal and professors of mineralogy at Oxford are fairly common in that era. Sorry to be the guy to break it too you.

Good one Josh! Well as a relative of both Harry Blackstone Sr. and Jr. I can tell you that such a relationship and 5 dollars will get you a cup of coffee just about anywhere. I like the horse theives in the family, they make it interesting. LOL.

My Great Grandfather shot a couple horse thieves.
Message: Posted by: Josh Riel (Mar 26, 2007 07:23PM)
My great grandfather was a drunk. I am Irish so most of my family are drunks. Of course I am also Scottish, so don't make fun or you'll make an enemy for life.

We might have stolen horses, but we can't remember. God help you if you accuse us.
Message: Posted by: MagicSanta (Mar 26, 2007 07:36PM)
My ancestors were ran out of the UK by torch and pitchfork carrying ancestors of Josh the S and then when they came to the US they either were laborors or criminals. Now I'm depressed.

My grandfather was an illegal alien. He was the only one of his family to escape the holocaust, so I guss it was a good thing

I come from a looooong line of illiterate dirt farmers, my mom was the first one in her family to graduate high school, and I was a discipline problem my whole childhood, which makes me perfectly suited for my chosen profession.

Hello alsounds good,
My ansestral line on my mother's side is from Templar Knights of Malta and from my father's side side 15th century romany gypsies. I guess the apple does not fall far from the tree...As I have always had a deep active interest in all magical arts. Asyou all know it's not where we come from that matters its were we end up and what we contribute to the world that does.

Josh
Did you really think you had a chance to compete with a flirtatious young lady?

BYW- yesterday was Sir Elton John's, and my evil X wife's 60th bday.

Santa Santa Santa
I want to make it perfectly clear, Sir Elton John is not my evil X wife. I do not swing from that side of the plate.

That's pretty cool.
we too are doing some genealogical searches
for my mom's cousin...we do not know where
or what happened to him.

we belong to a genealogical club and get
some learning materials to help search.

COLS has a great website and they help you
with your searches.

btw my stickers tell all about me...

This is pretty rude. Josh (The other one) starts a self aggrandizing thread. Clearly intended to cause people to discuss him and appreciate the fact he did not merely congeal from some dirty pond sludge, he was in fact born from human people who also had parents. Yes some in his family might have been a little too closely related but who are we to judge?

Where was I? Oh, so anyway you people all start talking about yourselves instead. I think that if you wish to discuss yourself, you should start the topic. As I am going to do myself.

:) Tony...He REVIEWED the Black Deck. I created it, Ellusionist produced it.

On that note however, I DID NOT answer your question. Yes, you can tell if fanning powder has been used on the Tigers. The black powder is effective if you really need it. I don't use it ever though, never found a need for it.
Message: Posted by: Marvello (Mar 27, 2007 09:38PM)
The black powder works great, but leaves your hands all black, and you can't smoke around it either
Message: Posted by: Josh the Superfluous (Mar 27, 2007 10:28PM)
How about using oil instead?
Message: Posted by: Josh Riel (Mar 28, 2007 12:31AM)
I disagree, you can smoke anywhere around anything. You may blow up or catch on fire a little bit.... But you certainly can still smoke.

Oh, and Josh #2 (Heretofore known as Josh the Superfluous) is really great. Not quite as great as some, but great still.

Magic royalty, it's like a nice piece of donkey meat, you can call it donkey meat all you want, but you'll still think its a nice piece of ass.

I - Am - So - Sorry.
Message: Posted by: Tony Webs (Mar 28, 2007 03:56AM)
Hay thanks for your help guys, just thought I should ask were the relevant people are, glad that I did.
Do any of you know what I could use to colour my fanning powder, ( that will work with no ill effects)? Just that I bought a bag of the active chemical.
Oh well back to the donkey work....

Oh MakMagic great cards and a good idea, thanks.
Kind regards

Speaking of black powder, my re-enacting group just bought a cannon. Sunday morning we're going to test fire it.

I'm related to Jesus, and he well well known for his magic tricks.

I'm also related to this guy "Adam", he was the first guy to get screwed over by his wife.

Again I apologize to anyone who read that.

Josh the Superfluous should be mentioned in one of his forefathers writings. It would have been the respectful thing of him to do.
