Topic: New Releases! One Day Only!
Message: Posted by: Josh the Superfluous (Apr 1, 2007 08:05AM)
As some of you already know, I've been working with a major distributer, to release some of my hottest new effects. In fact the pre-orders on my Ultamate Cell Phone Top Change have been overwhelming. For one day only, I am posting video teasers to two additional effects: The Ultamate Cup and Ball and The Ultamate Matricks.

In addition, I still have more effects in the works. One sleight I am particularly fond of, is based on Vandy Grift's End Over End Top Palm. By introducing an ordinary plastic bag, I have raised this poorly thought out, unusable move, to great heights. I call my variation The Bag Top Palm.

I've also been playing around with the presentation of classics. I'm still working on some of the mechanics, but those "in the know" will appreciate my handling of this classic Coin Vanish NSFW

Where can I buy your lecture notes? Where will you be lecturing soon?
Message: Posted by: Josh the Superfluous (Apr 1, 2007 09:21AM)
With all of the consulting I've been involved with, my lecture tours have taken a back seat. I'd send you a copy, but my friend Lew Ganson has asked that I not release any copies, pending a publishing deal. Since you live in Michigan, you could contact Abbott's. I gave an original signed copy to Perce in 1972, and I believe they still have it on display.

I was hoping you would send it to Marshall, and the American Museum of Magic - I am sure they would be interested.

Yes, Marsh has been hounding me for years. But due to the sensitive nature of my work, I have to be careful. I've been badly burned before (Just ask Dave Blaine).

BTW I just received a PM from the Café's own Billy Palmer. He says my Cup & Ball distills the effect to it's essence. And the kicker has caused him to rethink the size of the final load. You're welcome Billy! I'm glad we can still learn together.

My computer is falling asleep tonight so I could only watch a few. Please mail me a copy of your lecture notes if you ever make any. Loved the cup and ball.

Thank you abc! I am really proud of that routine. After endless discussion with Dar Ortiz, I've done away with a lot of the extra nonsense in the 3 cup routine, and got down to the heart of the effect (the final load). I feel, ending with the small ball adds continuity and structure.

Coin Vanish NSFW...

Josh, I love you. In the most plutonic sense, of course.

I don't think I've laughed so hard since, well...I don't know when.

Thanks Brett, Only magicians would get it.

I really have never laughed that hard at an internet video.

Laughed? What's so funny about the truly mysterious? Anyway?
Message: Posted by: Freak Prodigy (Apr 1, 2007 05:01PM)
What's funny is that fact that I couldn't do it, even if I did buy the instructional video from Penguin.

He meant that he laughed with the feeling of new found innocence, brought on by my masterful illusions.

Hey Josh, are your clones for sale? I think they'll be the next hula hoop.

thanks for the smile!

I had to show a non-magician friend of mine your brilliant coin vanish. He said the salt shaker is going to vanish and he has seen it many times. After your magnificent kicker we were left in awe and laughed for about an hour. We even copied your patter while eating but we are still not sure about the exact move. I will paypal you the royalties. Great stuff.

Some funny stuff there. I love Coin Vanish NSFW.

Thanks for the laugh.

Finally! I have been asking Josh to release these gems for YEARS!!

The coin vanish is great. Killed me the first time I saw it.

I tried ordering these effects from Josh, and was told that I missed the "one day only" that they were released - does anyone have these for sale second hand, or were they all bought up by Copperfield for his museum?
Message: Posted by: Destiny (Apr 2, 2007 10:33AM)
I paid for mine - but they haven't arrived.

Does anyone know if I have any redress with Paypal?
Message: Posted by: Freak Prodigy (Apr 2, 2007 10:36AM)
Copperfield didn't buy them, he convinced Josh, that he wanted to be his friend, and that since the items would be going into his collection, that it should be a donation.

Message: Posted by: Josh the Superfluous (Apr 2, 2007 10:47AM)
For the record, Dave Copperfield does not own these effects (he knows why). I have only taught a select few. And due to secrecy concerns, They have all sworn never to perform them for any spectators or magicians. The tentative release date is set for April 31st. If enough paid pre-orders are received, that date may be delayed.

Destiny, although PayPal shows that you paid, I have not received your payment. Please try resending it. Some times you have to pay 2 or 3 times before it takes.
