Congrats to Terry Fator on the Got Talent...

Curious to see how many of you sing with your vent act..

Anyone actually take singing lessons?

For the last 2 summers I have worked in musicals with musical directors and have stepped up my singing a couple of notches...(10 more to go said Nigel the puppet that rocks and talks.)

Along with Karaoke we also use live blues harmonica music..Folks are always asking when Nigel will learn to blow the blues....

Harris, I do a little singing in the voice of the puppet, but I am no Tony Bennett. My girlfriend asked me why I did not audition for Americas Got Talent since Terry won with his singing puppets. I told her that I am not that good and would not make it past the audition.

I only have the puppet sing a couple of songs that I made up. They are somewhat stupid, but the audience seems to like the program. I sure was glad to see Terry win out over the singers and other acts.

Yes.I think what sets Terry Fator apart is his ability to sing so naturally and wonderfully in vent mode.

I have heard it said that it is easier to 'sing' in vent mode than it is to speak in vent mode. However,to sing 'really well' in vent mode is a big,big plus.

Terry Fator...thank-you for advancing the Art of Vent....and congratulations again.

Congratulations to Terry. Awesome performance and a well deserved win.

I include singing in my vent act. I have taken singing lessons and sing weekly in a choir, but I'm more comfortable singing for my figure than for myself.

Me and my puppet sing some together in my vent act. I was the lead singer/lead guitarist in a rock band for a long time before I ever decided to pursue magic professionally. I still sing and play (acoustic guitar) at restaurants (country & soft rock) and at churches.

Harris, I started playing the harmonica recently. When I perform at my music gigs I use a drum machine that is also cabable of adding drums and bass guitar and I play acoustic guitar. I decided to add add the harmonica for some variety. Of course I have to use the harmonica holder (ala Dylan, Young, etc.) so with no hands I am limited to what I can do. It's fun though, and it does add a little more. On some songs I have acoustic guitar, bass guitar, drums, and harmonica, so it sounds like a full band.

Terry Fater is not only able to sing, but his ability to imitate other celebrity singers' voice, and he does a better job than the original singer, that is impressive and amazing.

Magicdoc88,

Terry was great! I looked up Louis Armstrong on youtube to hear him sing "It's a Wonderful World". I have to agree, I thought Terry did Satchmo better than Satchmo.

Olivertwist,

Glad you agreed.
Terry also sang "I Left My Heart In S.F." better than Tony Bennett.

Thanks to all for sharing.
Many vents can sing...Willie Tyler (from the past) to Jay Johnson. Working out of Reno in the late 70's let me see a lot of puppeteers in Lounge Shows..One of my favorite was a non vent...Wayland Flowers...

I have a drum machine..but it only does rhythm not guitar...My guitar has been gathering dust in the basement...Seems like I saw a vent talking to someone(thing) in his guitar???anyone remember who?

Terry Fator "The Million Dollar Vent" deserves to win :)

My figure sings a song to end his act...a short song from High School Musical :)

But he is nowhere close to Terry's Winston...

Terry has inspired me to take singing with the figure to the next level...maybe I'll try singing with my figure soon :)

Thanks
