Topic: Magic Review Sites - Only
Message: Posted by: echomagic (Sep 15, 2007 09:13AM)
I love the Magic Café as well as the discussions on the various topics. It has something for everyone!

But, does anyone know any magic related review-only sites? "My Lovely Assistant" has new magic reviews but because it provides other magic information, is limited in scope with how many reviews are posted at any given time. This is also typical of many of the other informational sites.

The specific information I would want included in the review is:

-general desciption of the effect, cost, practicality for its intended purpose (stage, parlor, close-up, walkaround), reset time, pros and cons to the effect, how well made it is and someone's personal opinion of the reviewed effect.

These reviews should include all things magic, ie: effects, books, dvds, etc.

Thanks in advance.

[/quote]I don't understand what you mean. Don't they only provide reviews?

Justin,

You are correct that much of what they do is review magic. They also list products new to the market as well as dealers of magic supplies. I do check out that site often.

Sometimes I think their reviews (and other review sites) do not contain enough information to make an informed decision. I guess I like to know about angles, reset issues, gaff problems and other tidbits of information that helps someone make the right choice.

The reason that I started this topic was because I have several drawers full of magic that I will never use. Some because I find out the effect doesn't fit my style, but most of it may look good in the hands of the inventor but is not practical in the real world for its intended purpose.

The Magic Café has been one of the most helpful.

Again, thank you everybody for your input.

Echomagic- Oh ok, I thought maybe you meant they had articles and stuff like online-visions. I thought I was missing out.
