Message: Posted by: Tim Trono (Oct 5, 2007 01:40PM)
I was fortunate enough to watch the new Bill Malone DVDs "Here I Go Again!" coming out this month. Wow - these are simply unbelievable. Believe it or not, I actually liked these better than Bill's first set of DVDs, which is one of the best DVD sets in magic. Bill is just hilarious. These DVDs are a blast to watch! On top of that the material is grrreat. I can't give you all of the details yet but I can say they have one of the best coin routines I have seen in a long time, one of the best sponge ball routines ever, fantastic card material, etc. (Bill also tips his Cards From Mouth). There is a real range of material here. L&L has done a lot of fabulous DVDs but this could very well be one of my favorite L&L releases. Do not miss these! Definitely one of the must have, great releases of 2007.

There are 3 DVDs in the new set. All I can say is they will be out this month. I started watching these a second time just for the laughs.

Wow...that is great news. For you youngsters that may not be familiar with Bill Malone (he has been busy building a successful business on a magic and working) he is one of the best magicians going. You will not want to miss out on anything he releases and I'm surprised they were able to wrangle him into doing a set of DVDs.

I Can't believe they got Bill to do another set. I didn't think that would ever happen. And they are betetr than the first set? That doesn't even seem possible.
When I go the first set, I must have weatched them day and night for two weeks. Laughing, learning and laughing again.

WOW!!!!

It's alright, been waiting on them for years now!!

Yep, Bill Malone sure does know how to entertain. I love his first set and I still use his reset handling and think touch turn. I can't wait for these!

Who's gonna be selling this in the UK and when?
Message: Posted by: James Stob (Oct 6, 2007 02:43PM)
On the Loose would be the VERY LAST DVDs I would get rid of. I can actually watch them when my wife is in the room and she doesn't complain.

Like everyone else here, I'm anxious to see the new ones.

My best dvd set is getting bigger!
This is great news, I hope they'll be out soon.

They should be great as Bill is an entertainer.
Message: Posted by: Tom Cutts (Oct 6, 2007 07:47PM)
It was a great shoot, a ton of fun, and Bill worked really hard to get all the work on film. The L&L crew also did a great job of capturing it on film. I can't wait to see the finished product!
Message: Posted by: MagicSanta (Oct 6, 2007 08:08PM)
This is very exciting Tom. I'm glad L&L were behind it so we know that it will have been shot right.

These should be available from most any dealer in the UK in October. Murphy's will be distributing these so we work with most every major dealer in the UK and around the world. I'll be giving out the ad copy after I get back from Mindvention so you can see what is on these.

Gelbe,

The video demo for this will be available once the DVDs are released this month.

I spent the past few days watching these DVDs and echo everything Tim has said. This is a fantastic release and you will not be disappointed. There is something for everyone here - cards, coins, sponges balls, cups & balls and even some mentalism.

Here's what Bill says in the intro to the DVDs:
"...I believe there's something for everybody. I've selected a wide variety of material from tricks that are almost self-working to tricks that require a lot of practice. I even went back to my bar magic days and added a trick or two back when times weren't as politically correct, when people just wanted to have a good time."
Bill is just as entertaining and amazing on this set as he was performing in the On the Loose set. Also on every DVD there are real-world tips and advice to make you a better performer and bonus effects.

The demo video will be on the home page of L&L Publishing and on the L&L page on YouTube.

If the set was by an unknown, I'd say you're right to wait. But...It's BIll Malone and produced by L&L. There will not be one person that won't like the set. It's just not going to happen.

Prediction without having seen them:
1) They will be the best DVD set of 2007 ( considering the great material that has come out, that's a bold prediction)

2) They will be one of the all time best sellers ever.
Message: Posted by: VcosNJ (Oct 7, 2007 12:02PM)
Yeah, Joshua Jay's new dvd set is currently the best of 2007 for me. However, I'm sure once this set comes out, Bill Malone will give them a run for the money. :P Hopefully we can get to see them this week fingers crossed!

1.) That is rather huge considering how great the Talk About Tricks set has been. If it is even close I am sure it will be an incredible set, but I have no doubt it will be great considering it's Bill Malone we are talking about here.

2.) I will likely contribute to that effort =)

Steve P. told me about the dvd's ealier last week. I am very anxious to see them. I have a feeling they will be even better then the first set Bill Malone did with L&L. The first set seemed hard to top but My money is on this new set doing just that!

By far, my favorite set of DVDs.

I'll be interested to see if it matches the quality of the 1st set. That's a seriously high bar.

If what Tim Torono says its true that these DVDs are even better that the first set, I can't wait.

I know nobody that entertains an audience that much than mr Malone, and he have such clever and devious methodes on the effects he performs.

And he is insane funny as well.

Message: Posted by: Christopher Williams (Oct 12, 2007 06:07AM)
These DVDs will be great, we know that before they are even out, however, I think it is hard to say it will be the best set. Josh Jay's Talk about Tricks were incredible, so much USEABLE material and just a great all round watch. However, the Benjamin Earl DVD set will be out as well before the year end, and having seen Bens work in person, and knowing some of the material on these DVDs, I would say it will be hard to beat his DVDs!

Actually I don't believe anyone has them yet. My understanding is that they ship from the replicator this Thursday or Friday to Murphy's. Thus we should most likely be shipping to dealers early next week. I watched these again last night (I received an advanced copy) and they are really great. As I stated before, I personally preferred them over the first set (which was really superb). Bill is just a riot.

On the coin routine, even if you don't use it how it is taught consider it is THE best way I've ever seen to get into and finish a CSB routine (and I've looked at them all). The Mind Reading Magician (Bill's take on the Chicago Opener) and the sponge ball routine are 2 of my other favorites. These are just loaded with great, usable material.

PS - The DVDs also have some great discussions by Bill on performing, business, etc. A lot of this insight comes from the book he was working on. The tips, thoughts, etc. are really great and worth studying.

Tim,

According to many posts in a different thread on the subject, most of us agree that the "Here I go Again" DVD set is just not as good as the "On the Loose" set.

I'm still happy with them, but I think I'll skip your hyped up reviews next time.
Message: Posted by: matt.magicman (Nov 4, 2007 04:11AM)
I was dissapointed as well
a lot of the trick require you to have be seated at a table
and other's were either long windied or too technical for me
that said there is stuff on there for everyone
his tips on the business are still worth hearing
I got a lot more from his first set though
Message: Posted by: RS1963 (Nov 7, 2007 02:24PM)
I think some of the dispointment some are showing is because of looking for nothing but new effects. Bill even makes a statement about that if your looking for new effects your not going to find them. But if your looking for time tested material you have come to the right place.

I think this set has outdone On the loose. Bill has so much to offer on this set. Color changing deck routine, Cannible cards, Cups and balls. Theres nothing not to like on here. There is something for everyone on all three.

As for some of the routines being too long. I did see a couple that were a bit long but those that were Bill said you didn't have to use the whole routine it could be shortened.

What's not to like about this set? Something there for everyone. Sounds like a winning situation all the way around.
Message: Posted by: Review King (Nov 8, 2007 01:00AM)
I for one am loving the new set.

I LOVE the On The Loose set. But...I don't do any of the effects Bill taught. Now, there were some classics on it that I already performed and I liked Bill's touches and took some of those.

Tommy ownder is one of my all time favorite Magicians and his L&L set is one of the best shoots from any company and I don't do any of Tommy's material.

I already have 3 effects from Malone's Here I Go Again that I'm learning. That's how strong I think much of the material is. I will only do "gaspers" or jaw droppers. When I add something, that means I drop something. It takes a lot for me to drop something from what I do.
