Yeah this is excellent, wonder what the pulse stop was like as that wasn't in the manuscript from what I remember.

The first effect looks exactly like one of the variations of Blood by Nefesch.

Man! I'm looking foward to this. I have the ebook and that is absolutely great.

Looks fantastic! Is the bloody tear thing possible with this?
Message: Posted by: THEGUY26 (Will Swanson) (Jan 19, 2008 05:02PM)
I think it is, but I'm not sure.

I believe at the end of the teaser they say something about there actually being THREE stigmata effects...and then the tears of blood and a pulse stop as a bonus.

But, it could be that the three stigmata effects are STIGMATA, TEARS OF BLOOD, AND PULSE STOP.

If it contains the same things as the manuscript, then it will have 3 variations on the stigmata (bleeding from hands), then tears of blood, and it appears as though an extra for the dvd version... pulse stop.

Thank you all for your interest. The teaser leaked out a little sooner than we hoped, but their will be 3 different variations of Stigmata, meaning 3 different ways to bleed from your palm. Tears of blood will be on their as well. The pulse stop is my variation of an old method, it is in the (discontinued) manuscript for those who have it. Their will also be some 'hidden treats' throughout the DVD and necessary gimmicks included with it.

Best

No release date yet. We will keep everyone posted as soon as one is available.

I am glad everybody is enjoying the teaser there will be another teaser and a more detailed demo. This effect is incredible, spectators that are lucky enough to see this will remember it for a very long time.

Yeah, it's a shame as this is so good... but it was always gonna be turned into a DVD project.
I love this though, one of my fave things, and now everyone else will be able to enjoy this.

Yeah sure it can... ive done various reveals in blood with this, though they are not taught in the manuscript, but you'll know how.

Excuse me but isn't the revelation a thing that will make this a copy of Nefesch's Blood?

No. I wouldn't do the tears of blood "blood" by Nefesch. I will support his upcoming dvd set. But I'd like to do the blood appear REVELATION with blood. Not tears on face. It is somewhat different. Don't think it is copying, if that then I would say "Blood" is copying stigmata with a revelation, but it's not a copy off. "Blood" if I remember is on the face. I would be doing it on the palm with the blook appearing as a symbol or number

This looks really cool, but it would take some serious thinking to get this to work with my performing style and character.

Soooooo.................Any news when this DVD will be out soon....I already had lots and Lots of idea about this thing
Message: Posted by: ted french (Jan 27, 2008 05:19PM)
We are getting ready for magi fest sowe have been taking a break and then we will have it out real soon
Message: Posted by: mesmer (Jan 27, 2008 10:41PM)
How long does this "break" is going to take?...does it going to be available trough Hocus-Pocus?
Message: Posted by: Irishghost (Feb 12, 2008 08:34AM)
I was thinking about something the other day. With the scare that some people have in regards to hiv and aids, do you guys think spectators will be put off by this effect? I will probubly still get the dvd, but do not know if this barrier can be overcome?
Message: Posted by: mesmer (Feb 12, 2008 10:49AM)
Hmmm....that is a good thinking....dont want to get a law suit after the show, when few weeks latter the spectator is checking their health and found that the "lovely" Mentalist/Performer left a souveneer in his Blood.....like HIV, Hepatitis, etc...etc...

anyone want to chime in on this?
Message: Posted by: Irishghost (Feb 12, 2008 12:33PM)
Lol, I doubt you would get sued. My point is from a spectators view. If they see blood on you, would they be willing to "pick a card"and sign it after the Stigmata effect? I doubt it.Or what about letting you touch them afterwards.
Message: Posted by: mesmer (Feb 12, 2008 07:49PM)
Then you should have a rubber glove ready and hand it out before you're doing the Stigmatism.... :)
Message: Posted by: Irishghost (Feb 13, 2008 07:13AM)
Thants funny man. Then you could bust into anyother rubber glove magic effect you know.
Message: Posted by: jquackc (Feb 13, 2008 11:00PM)
Here's the creators myspace page. It's had another demo of the effect. http://www.myspace.com/3bsmith3
Message: Posted by: bsmith (Feb 15, 2008 01:39PM)
Only one of the methods use real blood and I provide a "non-real blood" alternative to this method. I usually close with this effect or use it as a stand alone.. I feel that busting out card tricks after is anti-climactic.

Also, I almost always head straight to the bathroom to wash up after performing this. If you are concerned with any spectators worrying about diseases you can show them your washed hands with no exposed/open wounds before continuing. You can also do a 'Padre Pio' and keep your hand bandaged afterward.

Not to be impatient but will the new demo be up soon or possibly have the product out soon? Still very interested in this effect and I think it will work perfectly for my performance style. I see that the name was changed to Wounded a while ago also, so if there is another thread because of that then sorry.. Just want and idea if anythings going on for this effect lately. Thanks.
Message: Posted by: ted french (Apr 1, 2008 02:49PM)
A full demo will be out in less than a month, we don't want to show everything that you can do until we know we are days away from having the DVD in our hands. What is shown on the teaser is only a taste of what you can do with the methods learned on Wounded. For those of you that have not seen the Wounded teaser here is the link http://papercraneproductions.net/wounded.html

Hopefully it will not be that long we are hoping for mid April. There will be more details coming soon. We did not want to rush this out so we took our time and tested the gimmicks and made a few changes to the original method. Those that get this will be be happy to get an audience tested effect that is practical, easy and delivers reactions that are unlike other effects. This is a reputation maker.

Update, this will be available very very soon we should start pakaging everything to sell in a week or 2. The full demo will be out a week or so before the release of wounded. Here is something I posted on another forum I will be giving more info as it gets closer to the sale date.

On the dvd Robert does this in 2 different environments. The effect is performed completely surrounded at a night club right on the spot with very little prep, some versions of the stigmata effects can be performed with no prep. as long as you have the wounded gimmick. The gimmick/ gimmicks are very practical for a working pro or the person who does magic for friends at school or at the bar. The gimmicks take up very little pocket space and there are several different methods so you can do them separate or combine them and make them into one longer routine, it really depends on how far you want to take it. I prefer to do a very simple bleeding palms effect or the tears of blood but seeing Robert Smith do the Wounded routine where he combines different methods in one routine is something that leaves a very strong impression on an audience. The 2nd environment that he performs wounded is during a semi formal show where he basically performs the Wounded routine and nothing else and the audience is in shock.
What I noticed about this effect one we were filming this is that people were not only shocked but the were really entertained and I think that whats really important is not how much you can scare people with your magic but how much you can entertain people with it even if you do end up a crying bloody mess.
