It's all pretty simple, and often (se: ALWAYS) it is the "who we are" that is our best success resource.

MOST of my “business building” has little to do with BUSINESS at all, and I suspect, based on experience and my coaching relationships that this is more the RULE rather than the acceptation.

Reminds me of the pointless blathering on of someone here about how it is about relationships, and yada yada yada. How a good relationship is what is the foundation of all sales and so forth.

How if you have that relationship you can't be undersold or lose a job ever, it is yours to give up. I can't remember who was blathering on like that for the past few years here on the Café.

Oh wait I remember. IT WAS ME!

Right on the nose Dean-O (as always!).

I do plenty to keep my sales funnel full and reach out to new prospects.

But my bread-&-butter is repeat business and referrals by far.

And why? Because I like them and they like me.

Pretty simple formula.

When I get to actually speak with a client, it is not at all about the booking details, pricing, packages or any of that. Most of the call is about their kids, their vacations and what's going on with them.

"How to win friends and influence people" -lousy title - great content!

I agree, too. People will do business with you because they like you and they trust you.

I read in The Little Red Book of Selling (Jeffrey Gitomer) many years ago, that this ranks higher for a customer's reasons to buy, than the price. (There's a list in the book.)

I've also mentioned it a few times over the years, too. So we are all in agreement.
