Topic: Youth Forum in Linking Ring - Looking for junior magis
Message: Posted by: Dakota Rose (Aug 3, 2008 02:04PM)
Hey everyone,

If you know of any junior magicians that haven't been featured in the Linking Ring, please send me their emails. They should be under 18 and a member of IBM.

Thanks, Dakota

Dakota's articles are exceptional in every regard. Our young magicians can do no better than to find themselves featured in this Linking Ring column. I encourage you: If you know of a young magician deserving of recognition, submit his or her name to Dakota today! Thank you for all you do, Dakota!

On a side note: The IBM Portal is also anxious to publish articles of interest written by our youth members! If you have an active youth program, encourage your members to write and submit an article to the MYI portal staff! Get them involved today! Teach them the excitement of contributing to their future!

Dakota and Skip:

GREAT to hear that this is being done. I am really tickled pink to see the IBM finally getting on board with promoting youth in magic and also having a place here to post about it. That is simply wonderful as they rally are the future stars of tomorrow.

It is also great to see a section in he Linking Ring devoted to highlighting a youth or young magician. This is what we need to do more of to get young magicians the chance to spotlight what they have been doing and empower others to do the same.

You both know I am a HUGE advocate of youth in magic on a local and national level and I personally thank you guys for doing what you have been doing.

Fantastic, Dakota.

Here's a link to a video and comments on a great kid who is an inspiration to many young magicians, Adam Truitt. He's going to be featured on Public Television's "BizKids TV"

I'll send you his email address by email.

Best Regards,
