My latest wands

The Oreo Wand- an East Indian Rosewood with Phenolic rings and ABS ferrules...My daughter said they reminded her of her fav Oreos.

The Magnum Magus Wand

Ebony, with bullet ferrules made from brass. I really like this one. Great for wand spins.

PM Rannie, he's the only one that sells them.

Rannie's work is on a par with anyone in the wand making business. His prices are very reasonable, and he ships very quickly.
Message: Posted by: pepka (Oct 4, 2008 10:21PM)
I'm anxiously awaiting a wand from Rannie, and I'm already anticipating my next one! Me thinks you'd better bring plenty to Vegas brother!
Message: Posted by: Josh the Superfluous (Oct 4, 2008 10:35PM)
Incredible! Rannie, your craftsmanship, creativity, and love of magic has already left it's mark. I can't wait to see what you come up with next. If I didn't have all of these dang kids, my money would be going to you. :)
Message: Posted by: Father Photius (Oct 4, 2008 10:44PM)
I'd be ordering two right now if I could draw a rock and anybody know what it was, trying to get a daughter in law who is a graphic artist to come up with a drawing for me of what I would like. I could tell Rannie in person and I think he would get the idea, but I could never tell him in writing or draw it.

Magkiki,

The Oreo Wandis still available. PM me if you want it.

"Rannie's work is on a par with anyone in the wand making business. His prices are very reasonable, and he ships very quickly."

Bill,

Thank you kind sir! You were the very first one to have my wands. Thanks for putting my creations in your museum.

"I'm anxiously awaiting a wand from Rannie, and I'm already anticipating my next one! Me thinks you'd better bring plenty to Vegas brother!"

Pepka,

Your wand will be shipped in 24 hours. I am buffing it today. I am making 2 wands a week to set aside for Vegas.

"Incredible! Rannie, your craftsmanship, creativity, and love of magic has already left it's mark. I can't wait to see what you come up with next. If I didn't have all of these dang kids, my money would be going to you. "

Josh,

Thank you friend. You are going to love my next wand....LOL! I am pretty sure. Please let me know if there is a special wand you like and I'll make one for you. We all have our priorities aside from magic. It is wonderful and inspiring to see folks really put their kids up in the priority list. You deserve a wand....Hang in there brother!

Father Photius,

You can always try to tell me in writing. Lets give it a shot Father!

When are you coming to Vegas. Is it for WMS?

I know you've told me, but I drink . . . a lot!

Kent

Kent,

I will be in Vegas for the WMS. I should fly over mid or late Feb to hang out with Vinny and Mickey Painless....and the rest of the gang. I need this getaway!!!

***Bill, Thank you kind sir! You were the very first one to have my wands.***

Not so mi hermano, you forget I have one of your very first bamboo wand and chop cup sets! :)

***I am making 2 wands a week to set aside for Vegas.***

I'm gonna need a trailer to haul all this stuff to Vegas! LOL, CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!
Message: Posted by: pepka (Oct 5, 2008 09:04AM)
Yeah Frank, it's high time you come to WMS as well. This one will be fantastic. Bill Wells has Biro and Palmer working up something wonderful. Also with Rannie, Rafael Benatar and Jason Latimer, this will be one for the ages.
Message: Posted by: rannie (Oct 5, 2008 10:47AM)
Mick,

You are the first to have my Bamboo cup and wand. Yes that is correct. There are only 2 sets ...I have the other one. This is pre "Boss Wand" time.

Rannie

I guess I have to go to WMS. It will be nice to meet you.

Frank,

I will be drinking, like a retired sailor.

I'm assuming WMS is in Vegas? Is that correct?
does not seem that they have a website that I can get to.
Message: Posted by: Father Photius (Oct 7, 2008 05:42PM)
Yes Las Vegas , March 1-4. Website: http://www.theworldmagicseminar.com/

It is a great convention. Pete Biro and Bill Wells are both powers behind it and do a bang up job.

will see you at WMS with the "Dream Set" we talked about :) Look foward to seeing you.

Frank - As the good Father told you, the website is http://www.theworldmagicseminar.com .
This will be the 32nd Seminar in Las Vegas. How could you have missed them all???
We are at the Orleans Hotel and Casino from March 1 through 4, 2009. There is the special Lance Burton Teen Weekend from February 27 - March 1.

On the website, you will find a tentative schedule of events and information on special events such as the special "Homage to Vernon" session being presented by Roberto Giobbi on Saturday before the WMS begins on Sunday. This is a special 3 hour presentation that got rave reviews in Canada earlier this year. There will be only two sessions and each session is limited to 30 attendees. See the website for details.

Rannie Raymondo is booked to perform and lecture as is another of our favorite Café dwellers, Eric Jones (Godhandz), along with a host of others. (At this point, I don't know what I should ask Rannie to do - magic - music - or how to make beautiful wands! - maybe all of the above) A little bird has even told me that the Godfather himself may be there just to hang out and make sure that the "family" behaves themselves.

The Cups and Balls Mini-Symposium (in memory of the late Bob Read) is being hosted by Bill Palmer and Pete Biro. It will feature a presentation by Bill who is also bringing selected cup sets from his vast collection and also Pete(with the special permission of Bob Read's widow) will show a selection of the slides of Bob Read's cups and balls print collection. There will be performances of signature cups and balls routines by Johnny Thompson, Rafael Benatar, Antonio Romero, and Jason Latimer and a round table discussion by the participants.

...and these are only a couple of the events at the WMS!

You can also check the ads in the major magazines for information although they generally run a couple of months behind the current status quo.

I hope you can make this one! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Bill

Already registered, have plane ticket, and hotel room booked. I was not at last years WMS because it occurred on the weekend of Orthodox Pascha (Easter), no way my Metropolitan was going to let me off work then.

I was definitely at the previous two before that one though. I'm kind of hard to miss, being so tall, ugly, and wearing that dog collar. Hope to see you there.

Thanks Bill. Much appreciated. I used that URL without the "the" in front. That was my problem. Well, not my only problem.

I didn't see Kent's drinking act mentioned anywhere.
Message: Posted by: rannie (Oct 8, 2008 02:58PM)
I shall see you then Father! Frank...I too am looking forward to be amazed by Kent's drinking act! LOL!
Thanks for everything Bill! Can't wait for March!

We'll definitely have to plan a little informal "session" of all the Café' regulars. I'm not sure I'll be there for the Giobbi seminar, but may arrive Saturday night to go check out McBride's new club.
