How is this book in terms of content? Are most of the effects gimmicked? Any thoughts? :bikes:

Although I do not have the book, I can tell you that the material is probably good. He has lectured out here in Chicago and I picked up a set of his notes. There are a bunch of great things in there and he lectured on a bunch of the effects present in his book. However, I believe that there will be many effects that require gimmicks. He seems to like those!

Yes, many of the effects in Solomon's Mind require gimmicks, but, in most cases, these can can be rung in and out from a normal deck. They do make possible some really fine magic!

I can't recommend this book. Most of the effects require your audience to be in a helicopter to appreciate it. Effects where you have two piles of cards on the table, one containing two cards and one containing seven, but you must convince your audience they both have four.

I vaguely remember his oil and water being quite nice however.
