Topic: Anybody heard from Jimmy Talksalot?
Message: Posted by: silverking (Dec 20, 2008 10:03PM)
Has anybody heard from Jimmy Talksalot, or know anecdotally of his whereabouts in the last month or so?
Message: Posted by: G.Gilbert (Dec 20, 2008 10:45PM)
No.
If you (or anyone) hears from Jimmy, please e-mail me
The last time I talked to him was October 10th... He told me he would meet me in the States - He was on his way to New Orleans... He never made it there... I've been real worried about him.

There's a few folks over on Buskers who are currently trying to determine his whereabouts, George.

Some one must know his family or close friends, perhaps.

Would it be worth sticking Jimmy's picture on some European magic sites in case his face rings a bell for those who don't visit this site? I'm assuming Jimmy was last seen in Europe.
Message: Posted by: Dynamike (Dec 23, 2008 06:31AM)
What other forums did Jimmy post at?
Message: Posted by: tboehnlein (Dec 23, 2008 08:36AM)
Curiously, his website is down currently.

The last posts or logins of his seem to be around 10/12 that I have seen on his MySpace or any forums. The last posts he made seem to indicate he was busking in Amsterdam at the time. So if anyone has any connections in Amsterdam, or if there are any Amsterdam buskers around here, that would be worth some inquiry. If anyone knows a forum frequented by buskers of that part of the world, perhaps. I had started to surf around some of the sites connected with Amsterdam hostels and so forth, but any help from a guide with knowledge of that area would be greatly appreciated. Post here, or PM me, or whatever.

Maybe these guys from Amsterdam can help:
http://www.straattheater.info/

If not, they still provide a great deal of information about busking in Amsterdam.
Message: Posted by: sir real (Dec 24, 2008 10:41AM)
Thank you, Filip VR.
Message: Posted by: sir real (Dec 25, 2008 07:08PM)
Through the above link http://www.straattheater.info I made contact with the organization.

The performer that responded told me he had run into Jimmy around the pitch once or twice, briefly sometime last August. He, himself, then left town and did not return until early October, and he really wasn't around the pitch much then, and he did not see or hear of Jimmy being around anymore. He is forwarding an email to the other Amsterdam performers in hopes that someone may know something. I figure wait a little longer, see if any other performers contact me. If any more info comes my way, I'll post it here.
Message: Posted by: Dynamike (Dec 26, 2008 07:15PM)
Does he have a phone number for contact? If not, how about a phone number for his family?
Message: Posted by: TheAmbitiousCard (Dec 28, 2008 12:50AM)
I have an address for his family but no phone number.
I will write a letter and lick a stamp and see what happens.
Message: Posted by: Carlos Hampton (Dec 28, 2008 10:58AM)
I saw him in Septmebr in Barcelona and I sent him a pm a couple of months ago with no reply.
Message: Posted by: sir real (Dec 28, 2008 05:26PM)
Best news from Amsterdam is that there is no bad news. That is NO reported incidents or problems involving Jimmy or even POSSIBLY involving him for the period from early October until now.Thank you Amsterdam street performing community,a class act.

Then it may be safe to assume he left Amsterdam, but to where? Here is a post he made on performers.net 09-09-08:

Jimmy made posts as late as October 5 in the thread on this forum marked,"Amsterdam Café magic",stating he was in Amsterdam at the time.Is there any busking in Switzerland this time of year?
Message: Posted by: Mario Morris (Jan 1, 2009 07:40PM)
This so should be marked to the top untill we find out where is Jimmy.

I agree with Mario. Let's keep up the efforts. Does anyone have friends or family in Amsterdam? Maybe they could give us some pointers as to how to search for Jimmy... He's a great guy, and we miss him.

According to the grapevine his mother has gotten some letters from him and he is fine.
Message: Posted by: Dave V (Jan 1, 2009 11:36PM)
That's good to hear. I was starting to worry.

He's a very naughty boy.
Happy new year.

I don't even know him and I was worried. He doesn't call, he doesn't write... well, apparently his mother he writes. I guess his priorities are in good order.

I'll believe the grapevine news is true because that will give me peace of mind over Jimmy. Jimmy seems a great guy. His book has great practical information. And I hope his web site gets back on, too, because it's very good value. Thanks, Dan.

I think when Jimmy gets back, we need to all chip in and get him one of those GPS locator ankle bracelets!

All this time underground, he better appear with a new book that hes been working on while making us all worry. Or atleast some really great stories of his time with the pygmy tribe of Ungawawa.

After we hear from Jimmy that all is well, keep an eye out for the new game:

"Where's JimmyTalksalot"? Waldo better watch out... this will sell well.

heh... I was just gonna say! Usually when I don't see or hear from my traveling friends for just around six months or so, I have an idea of where they might be...

I think he's going to get a BIG kick out of all the concern he's receiving.

Hes prob reading this the entire time and laughing his butt off.

Hey Jimmy... Get back here and start talkingalot!
Message: Posted by: mmreed (Jan 12, 2009 09:24PM)
So, we all seem to have heard that Jimmy is ok... yet still no word from him. Did he decide to boycott the net? lol
Message: Posted by: sdmagic (Jan 12, 2009 09:56PM)
I think all that we've heard is that a guy heard a guy say that another guy said Jimmy's just fine.....

So it begs the question..... Where's Jimmy?

It'd sure be nice if he'd post with us again....
