Where can we purchased a battery powered fake dove that flaps its wings? Dan Sperry uses one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZg6wcAF1nk

You buy the rights from Dan Sperry...he bought all the ones the company had left before they went out of business.

I only have sold 2 of these to my students, it's my baby and one of my first original ideas I had back when I was 13. If you're interested let me know.

Wow, Dan double fooled me... I actually thought it was a stuffed dove with wings on wires than Dan moved with his fingers... Gotta stop thinking so complicated... haha

But I don't feel so bad. One person that saw Dan's act said to me, "that's a well trained bird!" hah!

I go to the toy store whenever I get to the Mall.

I have found so much cool stuff over the years.

So many different battery powered noise makers.

Be careful of this site. It looks like they may have gone out of business and just forgot to take down the pages.

I know that Fukai of Japan sells them. I also seem them occasionally at toy shops.

Call up and see if they still have them. Someone is still paying for hosting and the domain name.
Message: Posted by: Dynamike (May 10, 2009 09:47AM)
Thanks Matthew. I will surely order one. But it will have to be fast before Dan Sperry buys them all. :)

Call first. Just to make sure the store is still in existence.
Message: Posted by: Dynamike (May 10, 2009 10:05AM)
Okay, I gotcha. I will call first. I will also try to order it by phone.

P.S. Matt, did you receive that payment check yet?
Message: Posted by: wally (May 11, 2009 05:21AM)
Please let me know if they still sell them, thanks
Message: Posted by: Dynamike (May 11, 2009 11:23AM)
I just called. They still sell them, but they are presently out of stock.
Message: Posted by: sperris (May 12, 2009 12:19AM)
Yep, tried that source almost a year ago and they didn't have any then either...like I said - no longer made - I've contacted the manufacturer directly

Hey Dan, I was in Atlantic city today (yes I won some money) and I happened to see a mechanical dove outside one of the shops on the Boardwalk. I went to check it out and the guy said he had several boxes of them. He wouldn't tell me where he got them from but said he just got them in March.

Why would you warn people about this site, they ARE IN BUSINESS, talked with them today.

If http://www.crossroadscorner.com was out of business they would not be paying the bills and the server would remove the site, there is another reason your warning is unjustified.

JYB, Welcome to the Magic Café.

Spellbinder was talking about the manufacture who makes the objects we are trying to purchase, the flying birds. That manufacture might be out of business or not make the birds anymore like Dan mentioned. Spellbinder was not talking about the retail online shop might be out of business. But the retail online shop might not sell the flying birds anymore, but have not taken down the items on their website yet. You read it as a misunderstanding. And be ready because you will run into a lot of misunderstandings, just like most members here.

And Dan is so good of a magician that he might be fooling us. :)

http://www.crossroadscorner.com/online_shopping/flying-animals.html has them in stock now, was just at the site and they are available.

Sorry if I misunderstood Spellbinder

I just received mine yesterday from http://www.crossroadscorner.com/location.html The item is kinda flimsy, but no problem, the price is not bad.

The wings do fold in, but it's still wider than an average size dove. The eyes light up. On top of the wings there are black stains making the feathers look real. I recommend painting the wings 100% white. The wings fold out only manually, not automatically. At first when I put the batteries in, it would not work. I was thinking about sending it back. I flickered with the batteries, now it works. The biggest draw back is the noise. It runs loud when on. I recommend having music on too once displayed. The titled reads "Flying Dove". All it does is flaps it's wings. It comes with a hang support and string so it will go around in circles once hung.

It can be presented several ways in a act. One way is to show it is fake at the beginning. Next, put it in a box to show it has turn real. On the video when Dan performs it, spectators thought it was real at first, but Dan shows it is mechanical, next he turns it real.

I would recommend it for the cheap price of $9.50.

A fake dove can be purchased a different place. I think it is different from the toy dove I purchased earlier: http://www.seomagic-usa.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/475 The reason it seems different is because it can fit in smaller places. The toy dove I purchased above does not compacts too a size shown on the video.

Thanks mike, actually that's the link from Seomagic I was going to send you. they are out of stock at the moment.
Message: Posted by: Dynamike (Nov 18, 2009 09:11AM)
When my magic shop orders them, I will take a peek at one. If it is different from the toy dove I ordered earlier, I will give a review.

Seo's doves are back in stock.

I just ordered one.

A Nielsen Dove is in my show right now.

I think the animated dove will be a interesting addition to my show.

Just got fake flying dove from SEO Magic.

The wings are some kind of white material.

Look cool and works great.

I looks like SEO may have reworked the wings.

I have never seen another to compare it with.

How do the wings expand by itself? Is there a spring on both? Do they lock in place? I would like to get one soon.
Message: Posted by: Neznarf (Nov 25, 2009 08:17PM)
Lou Halario

Just turn on the switch under left wing and they unfold and start flapping.

The wings don't lock in place. They fold back for storage

You get a plastic dove shaped mold to store it in.

Now I just trying to think of a way to make my audience laugh with this thing.
