Hello everyone.

Peter has come up with something very unusual. This mini illusion fits perfectly with a seance style of show.

Although the video I saw was a little choppy, I am sure that any spectator would get the creeps watching those three objects jumping and floating around with no visible means of support. To the spectators they are completely isolated inside a clear chamber, and that is what it is. Just put the right music (I liked the one in the demo) and set the right mood and environment and I am sure there will be screams.

After the success Peter had with the Elevator, I think no one can go wrong with this one.

See ya.

I especially like the part where the entire box levitates into the air at the end. This gives a definite finish to old effects that really had no climax. Things like floating cards and handkerchiefs in most cases had no finale, it floated and that was it.
With Peter's finale of having the box levitate and the objects vanish from the box at the end you have a strong climax. This part shows excellent thinking on Peter's part.
One question Peter, if the items are borrowed and they vanish at the end HOW OR WHERE DO THEY REAPPEAR?
Just a question as the video doesn't answer that question. What would be a KILLER finish would be for the items to vanish from the box and be teleported to an overhead box that had been in view from the start or any nest of boxes idea.

Good question Devin. Just keep the objects for yourself. That's a good idea!!!

Devin in my show, we vanish the objects in the illusion and then later on we reproduce them in another effect later on in the show, but the nest of boxes is a great idea and could easily work.

You can also just as easily make them reappear back in the box aswell and hand the items back to the volunteers. You also don't have to vanish the objects this is entirely up to you.

Warning if you borrow items such as photos of deceased releatives of the volunteer, or perhaps their grand father's old ring or watch and you animate these objects you could seriously freak and scare people pretty badly. I know we have...

Thanks for the comments guys.

I love it, and I want one! Looks really great, Peter. And it's moderately priced, too. It's hard to picture what this looks like from the desscription, so I urge anyone to watch the video for this thing and see just how cool it looks.

Like I said before, Peter - you gotta stop making these videos! :D

Thanks Corey.

For those who saw this post previously I had a link to the streamed dazzle site and it didn't play very well. I edited my original post as we now have the video on my site.

It plays much better. It is the third movie down on the page.

Here is the link again and don't forget to turn up your speakers and enjoy the show.

Hey Peter,

Just saw the video. Wow! You have taken an old effect, and given it new life with the Poltergeist. I can see the versatility in this illusion. Animations, levitations, appearances, vanishes, transformations, transpositions, the list goes on.

As Devin mentioned before, the actual box levitation, and subsequent vanish adds finality to the effect; an actual CLIMAX.

For the money, I don't think you can go wrong. Great work, Peter!

Ok..now, either there was something wrong with the video, or I just saw the FREAKIEST EFFECT!!!!

That's just weird, I felt uncomfortable just watching it (and the music didn't help!) :wow:

Amazing effect as always Peter.

I just finished watching Peter Loughran's
"Poltergeist" Illusion.

WOW!

Now, as an Illusionist myself, It was a long time ago that I was fooled so badly!!!
Very well done, and great thinking.

From the video it seems that the Illusion
is made from High quality material, and also
professionally constructed, with a nice "High-Tech" look. I love this prop.

Peter, If I can have the exclusives for the
Netherlands, I will buy one!! LOL

(Well, I think I'm gonna pick one up anyway.)

Keep up the great work peter, you're the new generation of illusion designers, for sure...

The video is amazing peter...If I performed this without any music or anything people would still freak.

Peter you are "The Man" when it comes to illusions.

Peter,
Poltergeist has just made it to the top of my "MUST HAVE" list! I have been wanting to add a "mentalism" segment to my future show but have had no luck finding something I felt had REAL POWER. THIS effect has it :wow: GREAT JOB and I look forward to seeing it "in the real" someday....as well as in my living room :yippee:
Nice work Peter!

Some people seem to have problems viewing the video on our site:

http://www.masterofillusions.ca/mediapage.htm

You need real player 9 to view it without interuptions which is free to download at http://www.real.com

K I just found this thread so bare with me.

I think this effect would be awesome in a stage show. The finale of levitating the cube made me freak out lol

I need to pick on of these up.

Nice job Peter!
