Often times it depends on the type of cell phone you have. Here's a link from previous Café discussion- http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewtopic.php?topic=179488&forum=8 |

Thanks evolve629... I search "cellphone"... no "cell phone" DA! :D |

If you don't mind birds that don't fly Alvo Stockman has an effect called Selector Detector which seems to be exactly what you're looking for. Its included with some other clever cell phone trickery called Brain Scanner http://www.penguinmagic.com/product.php?ID=1915 |

I in the past have sent myself a "Text Message" prediction. Then I force the predicted card. Done with great presentation it'll kill! |

I got HUGE reactions when I used the voice memo feature on my phone to unveil the prediction for Jay Sankey's "Shuffle Cut Deal" |

Adam Grace has an effect that is for sale on Ellusionist called "Ringtone" Check it out: http://www.ellusionist.com/product/dvd+training/intermediate-advanced/ringtone-by-adam-grace.do don't know if its good, but I just bought it. |

I like and still use the one were the spec picks or just names a card and you ring your "Magic Teacher" who then tells the spec the card they picked when you hand them the phone. Easy and very effective. It is old but the new generation do not seem to be aware of it. |

How about andrew mayne's effect ghost vision? |

You can now add PRESSURE! :) |

Yea, Ghost Vision is pretty cool. Make sure it's the right setting and atmosphere. Otherwise it could be lame. I am still waiting for the right time. |

Here's one that the guys at the local magic shop were raving about - sounds cool! veoh |

Hi, If your phone has a banner feature or an area that you can customize with a name when you turn the phone on, just put in the name of a card. Turn the phone off, force the card in whatever way you like, then use the phone to identify the card. If you have a flip phone, close the phone after turning it off, and slide the card through the phone like you are scanning it. Then open the phone, have the spectator turn it on, and watch the reaction when the phone identifies the card. If you don't have a flip phone, just lay the card face down on a table and slide your phone over the card like you are copying it. Both ways work, and hit hard. One word of advise though, change the card on the phone ASAP, otherwise people become educated fairly easy as to what you are doing. You can put anything in as a prediction that you can force, just modify your story a bit. . . Enjoy, Dan |
