Topic: How much can I make for a charity
Message: Posted by: TonyB2009 (May 22, 2009 03:59PM)
I am a very experienced balloon twister, but have never busked it. I am doing an afternoon in a busy shopping centre, with plenty of promotional material, for a charity. I will have a second guy with me, both of us in costumes, with background music and plenty of promotional material about the charity, and we will do six to eight hours. Do you think we will make a substantial sum, or are we wasting our time? All answers welcomed. Thanks.

Just did something similar with strange results.

I was telling people all the money goes to the charity .... I got tipped less than if I was working for tips for myself!!!!

Key? Promote the tip as it is your own money. Another Idea from Andrew McDonald.... have an express line. $20, $50 or $100 bills get priority. did his at another event with great success.

Kids with $5 or less here ... $5 or more here express service!!

That's interesting Mark, and completely counter-intuitive. Thanks for the advice.

Clever idea...make up several signs and switch them through the day.. record which set-up works best.
