Anyone heard about the Illusion : " Dove Cage Disappear and Lady Appears. "
Whats your opinion of this trick?

I am actually comparing the " Dove Cage Disappearing Illusion " VS the " Dove Cage Disappear and Lady Appears Illusion?

Please guide. I am thinking of getting one of the above illusion.

I think yoku are talking about the Gemini Cage for which Bill Smith is the only authorized builder for.

It is a good illusion, however one needs to think how it can be staged. There are some requirements for making this work. You will either need a front curtain or have someone roll it out after you are on stage. In either case, you are going to need a real stage to perform it on.

Yes, I am talking about the Gemini Cage.
Can we do the Dove Cage Vanish alone if we do not want to appear the lady in this illusion?

Any place selling this product?

I understand that if you have the " Dove Cage Disappear and Lady Appears Illusion" .. , You cant actually perform the " Dove Cage Disappearing Illusion " as the lady is the one who is in full control to vanish the cage and make herself appear.

I saw some of the posts in the forum about this product.
My concern is : In Singapore we get most of the events where there is no side curtains in stages. There will only be a backdrop behind which we cant go into.

Is the Gemini Cage Illusion practical for the above locations?

Be creative. You might want to prepare a temporary backdrop in front of the permanent backdrop. The Illusion can be behind the temporary back drop thru most of the show. When the times comes pull away the temporary backdrop. The illusion will now be visible for the audience watch. Another way is to have the illusion already in place behind the closed stage curtains. When the curtains open start your act appearing your doves. Put the doves in the cage, and have the girl appear. I am sure there are other ways it can be performed without any permanent side curtains if you be creative.

Dynamike ,

Thanks for your ideas. Honestly to say in Singapore, its quite diffcult to put up a temporary backdrop cos of the venue and the kind of events we get here.
The backdrops are printed wooden matter. No curtains.

Most of the parties are just open concept. That means angles views are very important.

I have a Gemini Cage. It does have several different challenges compared to a regular vanishing dove cage. The size, weight, and set up/tear down are all quite different. The Gemini Cage transports in a much larger ATA case requiring a truck. It weighs 180 LBS with the case, and takes considerable more time to set up and tear down. You will also need two people for the set up tear down process. The girl also needs to set up behind a backdrop or in the side-wings. It is a good illusion and looks even better on a large stage where black art can play a role. I think a regular vanishing cage is easier to transport, set up/tear down, can be performed closer and in many more different performing conditions, etc.. If you do decide to purchase a Gemini Cage, I HIGHLY recommend that you buy it from the authorized builder Bill Smith, as the knock offs are not nearly as good quality/deceptive, etc. plus I believe in the ethics of magic.
I hope this helps.

Here are some ideas - a Dove to girl, built like a doves to bunny... or the gemini cage. I saw an ad in the june issue of Magic Magazine. Rick Thomas was modeling for the prop and its built by Bill Smith
