Topic: Battery power for the Passport 250 Deluxe
Message: Posted by: Dynamike (Jul 11, 2009 04:01PM)
I finally tried working the Passport battery and converter with my 250 Deluxe after all these years. It will work. I can see why: https://www.audiolinks.com/tek9/tek9.asp?pg=products&specific=jnmopmg0 The battery does not support all PA systems. I bet that is why the battery is now discontinued. Anyone knows of another way I can work my Passport 250 Deluxe using the converter?

Will a car or motorcycle battery work on the Passport 250 Deluxe when connected with a converter?

Mike, this is what I use for my 250. It works great. Before people start posting about square waves and sine waves. It is a sine wave inverter and there is no hum.

To answer your question. Yes, a 12 volt motorcycle or car battery will work if your converter is a sine wave inverter. Does that make sense?

Thank you, Eldon. I never knew those came portable. That will be better than a car/motorcycle battery because of the outlets, it can power others too. About how long will it give juice to your 250?

Yes I understand.

Thanks again.

I'm not sure how long it will run a 250. I have used it at festivals doing 30 min. show off and on all day and it never went dead. Of course I turned it off between shows. Seems like it was down about 3/4 at the end of each day. I'd recharge it overnight.

Hey Mike,

Give me a buzz this week. I can calculate how long it will supply the unit.

I was disappointed when Fender discontinued the battery system for the Passports.
