Topic: Does a ring box like this exist
Message: Posted by: Krazyjay (Jul 21, 2009 11:42PM)
I'm looking for a ring box that I can give to a spectator and ask them to take out the ring, they give me the ring and they close the box. I make the ring vanish, when the spectator open the box, the ring is inside. I want them to do everything. Something like the ball&vase trick. Does something like this exist. Thank you

Vin,

The first thing I thought of when I read Jeremy's post was the Dusheck effect with the Quarter in the crystal ring box! I can't for the life of me recall the name at the moment but it's one of my many faves of Steve's!

Mickey, I still use that old Dusheck quarter trick in a longer one coin routine. I haven't a clue what it was called back in the day and have long ago lost the instruction sheet that came with it. It is a killer trick and a very low tec method! Love it!

Yes you're correct Mick it was a quater in ring box not a ring, but I'm sure the same principle can be applied to Krazyjays question

If you are clever you could use a Porper Strong box. Or a Lippincott?

Mark Leveridge has a small box that would do the trick. Very cool the way it is gimmicked. You could make one up yourself. Problem is, I can't remember what magic video he showed this in.

Dusheck's trick was called Confounding Coffer. It uses a quarter.

Mark Leverage's Prop/routine is called "Ultimate Lighting Ring Box".

You can see it at his website:

Forgot all about that. It's a neat little prop.

The lightning ring box gimmic does not lock. take great care about how the spectator holds the box when opening it.

it is much safer for the performer to hold the box while the spectator pulls off the top. or the performer could open it himself and dump the ring into speccy's hand.

I thought Steve Dusheck sells it as one of the trick in his Lecture DVD, does he sell the prop too?
