The effects are fine, but the first takes too long for the impact, I think -
with so many other ring-string effects available. TV viewers are used to short "thought bytes". Too many unnecessary hand movements, but that may be nervousness. Avoid turning your back to the camera/audience.

You were willing to do it -- that's what is most important.
Therefore -- it is good.

Hi Funsway,

Thank you for post. For me, it is very important your commentary about the performance.

Yes, I was very nervous. The first time in front the camera!

Best,

Hi A Teles,

Nice performance. You didn't appear overly nervous to me. I liked your interaction with the host. You have a pleasant presence. The first effect may need a little more rehearsal to smooth the pacing, but the second effect looked good to me, and the two work well together. Very nice table you have there! Best wishes.

Sorry, didn't do anything for me. Not "magical" at all.

Well, let's see. It was almost one minute before you got into the trick, then you set the rope aside and spent another full minute putting on the hat (why not start with the hat on). The fiddling with the mouse to handkerchief was OK, but to me not necessary, it didn't add to the magic. You spent well over a minute with hands fiddling under the silk, then you turned your back to the audience for no real reason. The final ring/knot was more a puzzle than magic.

Sorry, but when asked I tell it like I feel.

8 seconds.

I think there was a reason here: attempting to distribute attention among the host and audience. Might have been accomplished from a better position, but this is learned with experience, and I think the audience would see here that there was no deliberate intention to slight them.

Multiple cameras here, too.

Tks Pete Biro and Laurie by return!

Why not start with the hat on?

Because, I use to say that the mouse only know me if I put this hat. Only this.
I understand about turned back to the audience, not good. I try get out of this trick.

Until today I understood that many puzzles can show as magic... when use rope, ring, false knot on silk. What´s difference between puzzle magic and magics?

I hope that you understand my English.

Again tks a lot for posts, help me very much

There have been ongoing debates among magicians regarding magic vs. puzzles. Here's a link to a short thread where this was discussed by Jeff McBride during his visit to the Café. Hope you'll find it helpful.
