All threads according to the Rules & Regulations as well as copyright law belong to the Magic Café. The staff delete threads on occasion for rule violations, but most will stay. The only exception are those threads appearing in the For Sale area (which you will have access to when you reach 50 legitimate posts, as defined in the Rules). They are removed after 14 days.

If there is a specific thread you want removed, you can report it by using the appropriate button and state your reasons. The staff will then review it and make a determination.

Of course, if you start a thread and change your mind about whether it was such a good idea, you have the possibility of deleting it (as you do any of your posts; being the first post in a thread makes no difference) if:

1. You do it quickly (I seem to recall that you have thirty minutes, but I'm not sure that's true; one of the technical people here will have to explain how that works).

2. No one has posted in reply to your post.

I can't speak for anyone else, but it frequently happens to me that I regret a post for a few minutes afterwards, so I go back and delete it...if I can. This is usually because I wasn't clear; but anytime I have the feeling that the post wasn't really pertinent--or worse, against Café rules--then I delete it. Lord knows it would be a lot easier just not to click the "Submit Reply" button in the first place. But having clicked it still doesn't mean that one's own good sense cannot prevail--provided you do it quickly as possible.

And don't ever be afraid to ask a moderator to delete a post when you think you've crossed the line and been a bit too harsh with a fellow Café member. I've done that, too.

Heck, with over 5,000 posts, I've done just about everything.
