Hello there has anyone read, or know of this 10 page booklet "PSYCHOKINETIC TOUCHES by Banachek (Steve Shaw)".
I was thinking of purchasing it but don't know if it is any good.
I don't want it to be a book of a routine and the secret is stooges of something like that.
I've been told it was a Derren Brown effect what he uses.
thank you

I don't know if it's a Derren Brown effect, but I can tell you it does NOT use stooges of any kind. It takes some nerve and showmanship to pull off. It can NOT be done close up. But it is killer. If there's something else you want to know about it, let me know.

Click the Search button above. It's been discussed many times.

A great effect only when done in the right environment with good presentation skills. Not to be done like a casual magic trick as you'll likely get busted.

What's provided in the booklet will not tell you how to perform the version Derren Brown performs to the strippers on one of his television specials. However, if I remember correctly, he did perform the method stated in the booklet to the twins who were in separate rooms. Nevertheless, the booklet is worth every penny you spend, and you will be receiving an extremely clever method.

Enjoy it.

It is a very nice bizarre effect, but like mentioned above, it requires good audience management and showmanship. It can be done in casual settings if you have the two participants standing at opposite ends of the room.

Why can't it be done closeup? Will the people who "feel" a tap notice something, or the will the people who spectate see the method?

Good point ??

I do close up work normally. Does this have to be with an audience?? Do you need 2 spectators? Will it work good with my close up? Can this effect be done like what Derren Brown did on the lap dancers?

Oh and another do any of you out there use this effect?

The effect is that a spectator feels a tap on the shoulder while you are some distance away. Inherent in that is the need for you to be some distance away. You want a second spectator to confirm that you were indeed some distance away.

Clive, if you look at my previous post I state that the version Derren uses on the lap dancers is NOT provided in this booklet. However, the version he uses on the twins in one of his specials IS the method described in the booklet.

There is speculation that Derren uses the identical principle for close-up (which would require a lot of balls), but others say he uses a different principle for the close-up setting.

Properly performed, this is a real pants-wetter (for the audience!!). One caveat: If properly performed, be careful...be very very careful...and keep looking around you at all times. You never know when some freaked out audience member might get half a notion to charge you and attempt to drive a stake through your heart.

'Nuf said.

It can be done "Parlor" but close-up
would not block right.

The effect, idea and method are pure brilliance.

Your gonna need some 'nads to pull it off though. The first time you do it, you'll sweat bullets.

ANYTHING by Banachek is on the top of my list
of material to own, practice and perform.

His new book is really good too. I don't see why people have not said much about it.

Hope this helps,

"However, the version he uses on the twins in one of his specials IS the method described in the booklet."

I don't think so, and I'd be interested to understand how you've come to that conclusion. Neither twin reports being touched on their shoulder. They participate in some kind of a drawing duplication effect, after which one of the twins exlaims "OH!", and then explains that she felt a pat on her bottom.

I'd like to see someone attempt to do that using the Psychokinetic Touches methodology.

Clive, would I be right in guessing that you've seen this for sale on ebay, and that the seller is the one who told you it is a Derren Brown effect what he uses?
