I just received from Amazon.com ďHow To Be Your Own Booking Agent: The Musicianís & Performing Artistís Guide To Successful TouringĒ (revised 3rd edition) by Jeri Goldstein. Her book details in a step-by-step manner how to be your own agent; however, chapter nineteen delves into working with professional managers and agents. Anyone thinking about touring their show and other business related matters, owe it to themselves to purchase this book. For a measly $30 dollars, this book is jammed packed with up-to-date information. Also, Iím not receiving any compensation for recommending this book. Itís that good!

I forgot to mention that Ms. Goldstein has two free teleseminars MP3s to listen and/or download concerning managers and agents, on her website. Go to her teleseminars page, scroll down to the bottom of the page, click on the appropriate link and enjoy.

VERY few performers know how to properly deal with agents. If it is covered it is worth its weigh in gold.

I have this book. While the focus is on bands, the info has application for any touring performer.
