Topic: Flourish from top of a packet

Hi guys, I need a suggestion.
I am working on an effect with a packet of 5 cards which includes a small ambitious routine. The patter is about artists from a circus. I want one of the cards to go on the bottom of the packet and then jump with a summersault or another flourish from the top of the packet.
When I do the move, the card is on the top of the packet. I need the spectator to know that it is on the top because it is part of the ambitious routine. I also need the card to jump in a nice artistic way. Now I simply push off the top card, keep it in place with the tip of the left thumb on the left side, and snap it on the bottom with the other hand. The card jumps in the air, does some twirls, and goes down on the table.
I would like to know if you have some other fancy ideas about this kind of production. Remember, I want them to know that it is the top card which is sommersaulting.

Thanks for your advices :)

You could buckle the top card, get your forefinger in the gap and flip it.

The flippant move makes a very striking, simple and effective production/flourish - I have started using it more and more for the purpose.

I use a move similar to what you're after almost daily- I don't know the proper name of it, but it's a pop-up move from the top of the deck, by a chap called Ezra Tawhil. I learned it from Nate Kranzo's 'Outside of the box' DVD. It basically consists of using leverage from one part of the deck, but with sufficient cover (Think 'Flippant' cover), it looks triumphant!

Sounds like Martin Nash's Flipswitch would be perfect. The card would somersault onto the table. It can be found in Ever So Sleightly.

How about the Bill Malone flip?

What IS the Bill Malone flip? Is it original to Mr. Malone or is it somebody else's?
