Topic: "Cards As Weapons" Internet rip-off

The following website contains advice and pictures taken directly from Ricky Jay's book "Cards As Weapons":

If anyone reading this has contact with Ricky Jay, I'm sure he and his legal team would be very interested in seeing this website.

He even credits Ricky Jay and the book, but I don't get the impression that he ever obtained permission to post any part of the book on the web.

I e-mailed the kid who is responsible for the site. He was apologetic and felt best if he take it down. He said he met Ricky and did it as a tribute to him. He didn't mean any harm. He would like to contact Ricky and ask permission. He asked me how to get in touch with him and I had no idea.

I got the impression he was a high school kid who really enjoyed the book and was eager to share a bit about himself and what he liked to do.

I didn't get the impression he was being malicious in anyway.

Please do NOT take down this marvelous WebSite -- I don't believe Ricky will be displeased, rather, think of it as a tribute. The book has been LONG out of print-- used going for hundreds. If Ricky wanted to make BIG $$$'s, he would have reprinted it a long time ago.

Four and a half months later, the tribute site is still up. I find it funny (funny strange, not funny ha-ha) that he even includes a "copyright 2003 David Maduram" notice on the bottom of his pages.
