Topic: Tell me About These Peavey Speakers
Message: Posted by: ClintonMagus (Aug 3, 2010 03:32PM)
I have an opportunity to get two Peavey PR-15 speakers and two Peavey PRSUB subwoofers for whatever offer I care to make.

How suitable will they be:

1. As speakers for youth dances in a gym or similar-size room, and

2. For use in stage performances in medium- to large-size rooms?

They are lightly-used and in perfect operating condition. What do you consider a fair price to offer for them?

I buy and trade a lot of sound equipment. If they are lightly used (to me this means they look almost new) one half of retail is a fair price. This especially holds true for Peavey. I would offer about $100 each.

PR 15's are nice speakers. They are light, stong and will handle 400W.

They should handle a gym and fairly large theatre.

Thanks for the information. I have seen them used or "new blems" on various sites for $170 - $200.

What about the PRSUBs? Are they useful or necessary for the uses I list above?

I'm not as familiar with the subs. I think they are a little more expensive. I would probably offer about $125.00 each. If you want that chest pounding thump at the dances they will do the job, but for a magic performance I think the pr 15's are better suited.
