Topic: With apologies to Todd Robbins

So I did my first bar show last night and went over much better than I thought... There were 6 comics and they seemed to get poor reactions... people just chuckled from what I saw. I was supposed to be the entertainment to simply keep people there and drinking, but got far better laughs than I saw the comics getting. So I felt better. I was VERY nervous because I am so used to doing kids shows. So I do some magic and end with my side show routines of glass walking, mousetraps, fire and Human blockhead... I've been trying to stick to my own jokes and material, but as I was walking around showing people the nail in my nose a guy shouted "don't sneeze" I had to steal Todds line "If I did I'd NAIL ya!" and it got one of, if not the biggest laughs of the night. So Thank you Todd, and sorry for stealing your line...

P.S. I am a huge fan. Would love to meet you one day...

So what do you guys think of "stealing" or "borrowing" jokes?

By now, Todd forgot where he got it...:)

Don't steal them and use them at the same venue that the performer you stole them from is still performing at. :)

Wouldn't say it if it hadn't happened of course.

Doug, you forget that the sideshow start with ME!

Kameron, the moment required the line, you used it and the result was that audience enjoyed it and it reflected well upon sideshow entertainment in general. You did the right thing for the moment.

I would write more, but I have to take a little a emergency road trip to Billings, Montana. Now, where did I put that knife...

Todd,
If you are coming west to Mont. anyway, and want to make a vacation out of it I have a place in the Colo. mountains you can stay. We have good fly fishing and the Aspen are changing color right now.

Just who is this "Todd Robbins" anyway?
Message: Posted by: Todd Robbins (Oct 4, 2010 09:58AM)
Todd Robbins is the greatest showman in the world and the saviour of Coney Island.

Clearly, you learned English spelling in a foreign country, where "T-O-D-D R-O-B-B-I-N-S" is pronounced "John Strong".

DAVID Copperfield
"Nodded" in my direction

MY SISTER-IN-LAW

Said: "He's amazing"
PENN

"Walked" off when I was trying to get an autograph!

TELLER

Said:
"Hi"

ANDRE KOLE
"Let" me volunteer to unload his truck...and be a spotlight operator...

As for my quote about you, how about:

"I'm going to miss him."

Todd, how's that "Spectator does Blockhead with a Bowie Knife" routine you were working on going?

I am breaking it in out of town (in Billings, MT). I have decided to combine it with my "Spectator does Sword Swallowing" and "Spectator does DEEP TISSUE IMPALEMENT" routines.

Now you're horning in on my territory, Todd. I'll begin your apprenticeship as my newest body piercer.

Todd: I'll gladly open for you! (then I won't be a spectator...)

Kameron, I'm pretty sure you are THE spectator.....

He's going to kill you Kam. Good for me, I was wondering how to eliminate my own son as competition. haha

It's be a pleasure to be killed by Todd Robbins... Too mad magic isn't like art... worth more after the magician is dead..

It's be a pleasure? sorry... me no type good...
